3 hours later...
"I tried my best to fight off the demon Kaden."
"Don't even talk to me! I fucking hate you!"
"Kaden William Elliott Beliveau! Watch your mouth!"
"I'm never trusting you again dad!"
"Stop yelling!"
"Sorry Alice."
"It's ok dad."
Alice walked over to Kaden, placed a hand on one of his shoulders, and did her best to explain that it wasn't my fault.
Unfortunately it didn't work because Kaden shoved Alice aside.
"Dad, its time for you to leave. I don't need you here and neither does anyone else!"
"I'm sorry son. I'm truly sorry."
"I...don't accept your apology. Now LEAVE!"
"You're grounded for three days."
"Fuck you!"
"Now you're grounded for two weeks."
"You nearly killed me dad! I was so fucking terrified! I thought you loved me..."
"I do love you. You and Alice are my precious little angels."
"Thanks dad."
"You're welcome Alice."
Alice and I hugged for a few minutes, but when I went to offer Kaden a hug, he just turned around and walked into his room, closing the door behind him.
"Give him time dad. He'll come around."
"I hope so. And you know that I would never hurt you or Kaden, right?"
"Of course. You're our father and you love us with all your heart and soul. Just like we do."
"You know, when you two were little I would come into your room at night and I would just rub circles on your backs, even if you were asleep just to be sure you always had sweet dreams."
"You see, this is what I mean. You're far too loving and caring to hurt anyone you love. Unless you had to you wouldn't even hurt a fly."
"You're right...I wouldn't. Now if you need me, I'll be..."
"Dad, don't do it. We need you, and everyone who loves you needs you."
"Everyone except Kaden. If he says I'm dead to him, then...so be it."
"Dad..."
"Alice...don't...just don't."Kaden's POV
I have just finished tearing my favourite picture of me and my dad. Even though I was only like four years old, it's still my favourite memory. It was the day my dad helped me catch my first foul ball. He then got it autographed by the entire team.
"Kaden?"
"Dad?"
"No, it's Alice. Dad's...dad's leaving."
"Define leaving."
"He's probably going to kill himself."
"Kill himself?"
"You said that..."
"I know what I said, but I didn't mean it."
"Saying that dad was dead to you really hurt him, you should've seen him. He was shedding at least a million tears. You should apologize."
"I know."
"He loves you and you know it."
"I know."
"He would never hurt you."
"I know he wouldn't."
"If you need proof of his love for us..."5 minutes later...
"Take a look at this picture of our first Christmas."
My sister handed me the picture and the moment I laid my eyes on it I curled up in my bed and started crying.
"C-can you g-get dad, p-please?"
"Sure."Alice's POV
"Dad!? Dad!?"
I got no response so I went outside to try.
"Dad, are you out here!? Dad!?"
Once again I got no reply, but I did hear crying somewhat close to me.
I walked around the house until I found my dad.
"Dad? Are you all right?"
"Alice, I thought I told you that I wanted to be left alone."
"Dad can you come back inside, please?"
"So my own son can unleash his fury on me? I don't think so."
"Please just come with me."
"You're not going to stop asking until I say yes, are you?"
"Correct."
"All right, I'll come with you."Daniel's POV
-Kaden and Alice's bedroom-
"Hey dad."
"Hi son."
"Dad, I just want to apologize for saying that I would never trust you again and that you were dead to me."
"No. You were right to say that I was dead to you."
"No I wasn't. I was just really scared and mad when you tried to kill me when you were possessed. I know that you did your best to fight off the demon. I just want you to know that I'm truly sorry, and that you're always going to be my father...no matter what. I love you dad."
"I love you too son."
Kaden and I hugged for a good five minutes before pulling away.
"You know that I would never hurt you, right Kaden?"
"I know dad."
"If it takes the rest of my life, I promise that I'll find a way to make it up to you."
"There's no need for that dad."
"Why's that Kaden?"
"Because you already made it up to me by being the...best...dad...ever."
