"Everyone, we should just give up the search. We've had absolutely no luck. And we're never going to find our dad." I declare.
"Yeah, my brother is right. We've spent twelve days looking for our dad and enough is enough. I don't want to stop, but we have to. Otherwise we're going to drive ourselves insane."
"Are you sure?" Aunt Tracy wonders.
"Yes." Alice and I reply.
"I'm sorry we weren't able to find him kids." Chandler and Grayson proclaim.
"It's ok. You did your best and that's all we can ask you to do." Alice implies.
"We should plan a funeral for Daniel." I state.
"A funeral? But we don't know if Daniel is actually dead."
"I know Aunt Tracy, but we should do it anyway...for closure."
"I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I'm with my brother on this."
"I'm going to have to sleep on this before I make my decision." Chandler announces.
"Same here. Grayson states.
"I agree with Chandler and Grayson." Aunt Tracy declares.
"William and I will also have to sleep on this."
"As Daniel's ex-girlfriend. I agree with Kaden and Alice."At home...
Grayson's POV
"I don't know if I can go through with this. Having a funeral for Daniel when he's still out there somewhere, I just don't think that it's right." I imply. "And in my opinion it's an insult to Daniel."
"How so?" Gina asks.
"It's an insult to all the memories we have of him and just in general."
"I know that you don't think you can do this Gray, but in a way we have to do this because we are honouring Daniel by doing this as well."
"I know that Chandler. it's just that..."
"You don't think that you can go through with this even if you sleep on it, do you?" Chandler wonders.
"Pretty much. Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to head up to my room so I can calm down." I state.
"All right. Feel better soon Grayson." Gina proclaims.
A couple of minutes later I was curled up on my bed, not to mention the fact that I was crying.
"Daniel...wherever you are please come back home, I'm really worried about you. And I don't want to lose you, not like this. I love you way too much."
*knock knock*
"Who's there?"
"It's Chandler."
"Why are you up here?"
"I'm just checking on you."
"Well, I'm fine."
"May I come in?"
"I guess."
A couple seconds later Chandler sat down beside me and looked at me.
"You're not doing so well, are you?"
"I already told you that I'm doing fine."
"Don't lie Grayson. You're obviously not doing so well."
"How long were you standing there anyway?"
"Not that long, but I did overhear what you were saying."
"You did?"
"Yes. You really love Daniel, don't you? That's why you don't want to have the funeral, am I right?"
I just stayed silent.
"Grayson, look at me."
I looked at my brother.
"I don't want to accept this either, but I know that I have to because if I don't I'd only depress myself further, and I don't want that to happen to you."
"So basically you don't want me to turn into Daniel."
"That's one of the reasons, but..."
"So I have no self control now?"
"You're not in the mood to have a conversation are you?"
"Chandler, why are you really here? To convince me?"
"No. To try to cheer you up and to check up on you."
"Well, you aren't doing a good job."
"We all know how you feel Grayson, and we don't blame you for feeling this way. We love Daniel too."
"Not as much as I do."
"What do you want me to do to cheer you up?"
"Bring Daniel home."2 hours later...
Daniel's POV
"I'm so fucking hungry and I'm finally entering Atlanta, Georgia. Also I've lost quite a bit of weight since I haven't eaten in twelve days."
*hacking cough x4* *sneezes x3*
"I really need to get something to eat before...I..."
Was all I could say before passing out.Grayson's POV
"Hey Grayson." (Reader's choice)
"What's up fam?"
"Someone is sure feeling better." Chandler states.
"And I have the songs that I were listening to thank for that."
"What songs were you listening to?" Gina wonders.
"Seasons in the sun by Westlife, Hey, Soul Sister by Train, Fireflies by Owl City, and a few other songs."
"We were just about to watch a movie, would you like to join us?"
"No thanks mom, I'm going to need some more time before I'm ready to...you know."
"Take all the time you need, and remember that if you need someone to talk to you can always come to us."
"I know. What movie are you planning on watching?"
"Midnight in Paris."
"You know what, maybe spending some quality time with my family is what I need to cheer myself up. So, I am going to watch the movie with you."
"Are you sure you're up for it?"
"I know I am Chandler. If I don't think I can handle it at any point, I'll just go for a walk, or splash some water on my face."
"You understand that we don't want you second guessing yourself, right?"
"I know mom. And like I said, if I need to take a break, I'll take one."~25 minutes later...
I got up from Daniel's chair, made my way up the stairs and entered my bedroom.
A few seconds after I entered my room my cell phone started to ring. I pulled out my phone and looked at the caller ID and didn't recognize it, so I ignored it.
It wasn't long until my phone started ringing again, with the same caller ID appearing. Once again I ignored it and was just about to block it when the same number called back again, this time I answered.
"WHO THE FUCK IS THIS!"
All that was coming from the other end were just coughs and some sneezes.
"Who are you?"
"A f-f-f-f-fri...end."
After that the call ended.
I left my room, ran down the stairs, and rejoined my family.
"Are you feeling all right Grayson?"
"I...I...I think I just got a call from Daniel, but if it was Daniel, it didn't sound like him. So whoever it was, was hacking and sneezing a lot."
"Probably just a crank call." Mr. Riggs states.
"Yeah, probably. Now let's get back to watching the movie."3 hours later...
"Hey Chan, can I talk to you?"
"Of course, what's on your mind Grayson?"
"It's just that whoever this person is, he keeps calling me from different phone numbers, and I'm getting really annoyed and scared."
"What does this person say when you pick up? And what do you say to him?"
"Well, this time the person said that, he'll be seeing me soon. After that was said I hung up and shut off my phone. And I just wanted the person to tell me who they are, that's it. And I told him to stop calling me or I'd report their number to the police."
"You should. Report every number that they called you from."
"But what if it's Daniel calling me, and he's trying to tell me something."
"Do you really think Daniel would torture you with all of these phone calls?"
"If he had to, then yes I do."
"What makes you so sure that this is Daniel calling you?"
"I just have this feeling in my gut that's telling me that it's Daniel."
You really believe that it's Daniel?"
"Yes!"
"Then I do too."
"Thanks."
"You're welcome Gray."
"So have you made your decision yet Chan?"
"I have."
"And?"
"I'm agreeing with the others. We should have a funeral for Daniel. I know that you may not see eye to eye with everyone else, but you have to understand that..."
"I already know Chandler, you don't want anyone else to fall into a deep pit of depression like I am. And having this funeral for Daniel should help because it's for closure."
"It's what Daniel would've wanted."
"You just said that like he's actually dead!"
"You know what I mean."
"Yeah, I guess. Well, I'll let you get ready for bed. Goodnight Chan."
"Goodnight Grayson. Have a good sleep."
"I'll try to."Tomorrow...
"I still don't like the idea of having a funeral for Daniel, even if it's just for closure, but since we're going to need everyone's help and because I'm a good friend I'll agree to having the funeral for Daniel."
"I've already called the Young Funeral Home and let them know about the closure funeral. Natalie and the others are going to be bringing the pictures and the flowers."
"Shouldn't we go and help them mom?" Chandler asks.
"She told me that they have everything under control. So if you two have anything you'd like to say at the funeral you might want to write it down so you won't forget it."
"I already wrote my speech. What about you Grayson?"
"I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I'll go write it down now."
I made my way up to my room, but stopped halfway up the stairs.
"What's wrong Grayson?" Mrs. Riggs wonders.
"Nothing. I just.....I'm actually thinking about not giving a speech."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. It'll all depend on how I'm feeling."
"What do you mean?" Chandler asks.
"If I feel like I can...you know, handle it I'll give my speech, and if I can't...then I'll just stay seated and quiet."
"Can we get going now mom? If Natalie and the others are at the funeral home now, we don't want to keep them waiting any longer than they have been." Chandler queries.
"Of course. Come on Grayson."
I know that I agreed to the funeral, but I still find it to be an insult to Daniel. He's not even dead. They'll see, having this funeral will be a waste of time. It's only a matter of time before they see the light.A/N: I was planning on keeping this as one chapter but I decided to type it as two, and what do you boys/girls think will happen at the funeral? Do you think Grayson will give his speech? Yes or no? And tell me why you think he will or won't.
