disappointed dreams
They say that dreams are far off wishes
That we can try and try
But we won't succeed
That we'll settle for something less
Than the promise of what we started withIs it not foolish
To pluck flower petals and wish on their beauty
For a fragment of the reality we crave

The resolve diminishes
To pursue a dream gone wrong
To give up on something we haven't yet got.And again, we wish for something new
Something less than before
A back up to settle forThe satisfaction of 'just okay'
Is enough to keep us breathing
The loss of a better tomorrow
Is a hole left unfilled.
