Hurrying out of the classroom just as soon as the first sound of the bell appeared loud in the classroom, you pushed through the few students who were slower than you, wanting to get out faster than possible. The faster you would get out and home before you would get too drowned by the rain, the easy would it be to blow-dry with the extra time you had before the party.

Turning on your left on the hallway you went into the library to take a shortcut through it, the thunder loud and clear in the background and lighting up the whole place.

Walking past the tall shelves with books you turned to your left to head towards the exit but the sudden vision of another person coming from the other side made you squeal and crash into the person, papers flying everywhere on the floor along with you and the person you had run into.

"Ow..." You mumbled and rubbed your head with your hand where you had landed, feeling the spot tender and starting to swell. You looked up from the floor to see who it was and your eyes widened just as his did.

"Mr. Hemmings?" You asked almost pathetically and he nodded his head and started to collect his papers that were spread everywhere on the floor. "I hope you enjoyed your detention. Maybe it made you think about the fact that it isn't cool to use your spare time here at Friday's."

You scoffed at his words and moved your hair to the left side of your shoulder and stood up from the floor. "It's not my first time as Mr. Harris said." You mumbled and swung your bag over your shoulder. "I know so wouldn't this be the time to think again and do something different?"

"You mean being on time? Math isn't that important to me." You mumbled and pushed him shoulder by shoulder wanting to get past him to head out of the library but the loud sound of thunderclaps and everything all of the sudden going dark made you stop in track.

You looked over your shoulder with wide eyes to glance back at Mr. Hemmings and even though everything was completely dark, you could still see him wearing the same shocked expression as you.

"You've got to be kidding me." You mumbled below your breath and hurried towards the doors, trying to open them but it was useless. Most of the doors at the school were automatically open when censors could feel movement near them but without any electricity at the whole school, it was possible for the doors to open. Mr. Hemmings' jaw fell down to his feet as he watched you pointlessly trying to open the door and he grabbed his phone fast, trying to call the janitor at the school.

"Hey Lewis, it's Luke." He introduced just as soon as the janitor picked up and you turned around while crossing your arms, heading towards him.

"Yeah the electricity is out at the library as well and the doors can't open so we're stuck here." A question was asked faint in the phone and he looked down at you.

"We? Oh Yeah I'm not alone, there's another student here as well." You crossed your arms and took a glance around the library even in the darkness, the thunderstorm still rumbling outside violently.

"But for how long?" Mr. Hemmings asked all of the sudden frustrated and he furrowed his eyebrows. "We can't stay in here for the night!"

"Hell no we can't." You mumbled under your breath and walked towards one of the many beanbags at the library, taking a seat on a red coloured one and Mr. Hemmings followed you still with his phone to his ear.

"Okay fine... Call me if you find out something." He mumbled as the last words before hanging up and he sighed shortly to himself before placing his bag down onto the floor and took a seat on the green beanbag next to yours.

"What did he say." You asked while staring out in the air, already knowing what he was going to say.

"He said we would be stuck here for quite a while. He's locked into the gym with a few students from the football team. Some students are stuck in the canteen. At least they can eat when they want. He also said in worse case, we'll be locked in for the night. But it's only the matter of time before the warmth will disappear and the school will be deadly cold."
