Can we just take a moment to approve how good of an actor Misha is?
A hunt can go wrong in many ways.
This was one that was supposed to be quick, not necessarily easy, but still in-and-out. Dean had called Castiel down to help, seeing that you had another hunt to finish right after this one.
You approached an abandoned hotel. It was about five stories tall with a crumbling brick structure. The inside was somehow worse than the outside: cracks littered the tile flooring and mold grew on walls. You could hear the shutter of the rusty pipes and the wind whistling through shattered windows.
"This place stinks," you muttered, covering your nose.
"Probably because there are hundred of bodies buried underneath you," Castiel responded. He met your gaze and you gagged at the thought.
"Better set the place on fire once we kill the demons— bodies are no good."
The angel settled at a walk right next to you and let the Winchesters scout further ahead. Their footsteps echoed down the hall and you started to rely on your hearing, not your sight. It was getting dark and the winter's chill only made things worse. You shivered and rubbed your exposed arms, then you felt a new warmth cover you.
It was the angel's trench coat... You opened your mouth to say a 'thank you' when you heard a click behind you.
"Cas?" You looked to the angel, he turned immediately.
"Yes, Y/n?"
"This place is like a funky town," you whispered, feeling a chill run up your spine. Castiel's blade dropped from his sleeve and you ducked right before he threw it down the hall. A demon lit up in fiery light and collapsed to the ground. A gun slid across the floor.
You ran to retrieve the gun and the angel's blade, silently thanking yourself that you taught Castiel Sam and Dean's code words. You handed the blade back to the angel and he dipped his head in gratitude.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Of course, you?"
He only nodded his response and looked forwards with a far away look. You glanced sideways at him, watching from the corner of your eye. He was acting strangely, well stranger than usual.
There was a commotion up ahead and you could only guess that the Winchesters had found another demon. You and the angel wasted no time, sprinting towards the action.
A shadow flew right in front of your face and a thunk sounded from a body hitting a wall. Dean let out a low groan and you saw his silhouette struggle to stand up.
"Dean!" Sam shouted as a demon caught him in a throat hold. Castiel was no longer by your side but tackling the demon advancing against the older Winchester. You started running to Sam. The demon holding him saw you and smirked.
You found yourself unbalanced and being dragged by an unseen force and pinned to an unstable wall. You let out a yell of defiance and attempted to thrash and kick at the wall behind you, hoping that maybe you could break through it. Your efforts proved worthless, though you kept trying.
By now, Dean was back on his feet and lunging at the demon who was about to stab Sam. All three of them went down and you fell back to your feet.
You squared your shoulders as you saw another figure by the door frame. You raised the gun and fired at the post, it toppled onto the figure. You shouted to Cas. The angel looked up and followed your gaze, going over to smite the demon you had pinned. You then went to check on the brothers, hoping that they were still okay.
