You turned as you heard a door creak open. Thinking that it was just your mind playing a trick on you, you didn't expect it to be real. This place had no doors, but who knew? It was Heaven.

You knew you were dead, what else could happen after you fell unconscious in a crowded parking lot and woke up in Tunnels Beach, Kauai? You could have been zapped somewhere, but you remember being wounded. You had no wounds.

"Castiel?" you asked as the figure became clear. The gentle lap of waves was your reply as he walked closer, looking pale and... relieved.

"Y/n," he said after a short while, "I- I'm sorry." The angel lowered his head. You tilted your head, wondering what he had to be sorry about. You died, yes, but it wasn't his fault. Unless he thought it was...

You lurched forwards and pulled him into a hug, holding him close as you tucked your head into the crook of his neck.

"It's okay," you whispered. You hadn't quite gotten over the shock of being dead yourself, it was comforting by him just being here. "It's not your fault," you added, feeling like he would need to hear it personally.

You pulled away but he reached out and grabbed your hand, sending a sensation of sparks up your arm. You studied him; his facial features and the way he carried himself. It looked like he was weighted and sad, most likely hiding something. You decided not to ask until later, some things are better left unsaid.

"Where's your trench coat?" you asked, genuinely curious.

He sighed, "Probably still in the hotel."

"Sam and Dean?"

"I don't know, I called them to let them know-" he paused, you nodded and urged him to continue, "chances are they are going to get your body for a hunter's funeral."

You shook your head, "No wonder why it's so cold, it was pretty chilly in the hotel. I was wondering earlier because Hawaii is normally pretty warm." The angel nodded slightly as his response. "Speaking of Hawaii," you gestured to your surroundings, "I only told one person about how much I loved going to Tunnels Beach, you. Did you make this for me?"

"I did," Castiel lowered his head, cheeks going red. "I remembered the spark in your eyes when you talked about 'snorkeling' here, how you described the caves and scenery with such perfect detail. You smiled whenever you talked about this place, I made this about a year ago. I also connected it to Sam and Dean's Heaven as well."

"Cas, that's amazing!" you squealed, pulling him into another embrace. "Thank you for thinking about me."

"Of course," he whispered softly.

You two walked down the beach together, watching the sunset. You ran out into the water and sent a splash towards his direction. The angel looked at his, now-soaked tie in confusion.

"C'mon, Cas!" you encouraged, diving into a wave and swimming farther from the beach. Castiel shrugged and removed his tie, quickly moving to your side. You dove down to the sandy ocean floor, fascinated on how the pressure didn't hurt you.

You swam back to the surface to get a mouthful of water as the angel splashed you back. You gasped and his face fell.

"Did I do it wrong?"

"No," you laughed, shoving his head under the surface and watching him pop back up with a playful look. He lunged at you and you shrieked, thrashing away from his grasp.

He chased you all the way back to the beach where you collapsed onto the sand, "That was fun."

He nodded, "Yes, that was." He walked to where his tie lay and put it back on, then sat down next to you. You snuggled into his side and he awkwardly put an arm around your shoulders.

"I love you, Cas," you mumbled. You felt the angel stiffen, your heart sank as you thought he didn't feel the same.

"I love you too, Y/n," he replied, leaning down to kiss the top of your head. You felt your face flush with heat as you looked up to him, seeing only admiration in his eyes. His words were true.

Your lips met softly. It was a short kiss but it seemed to explain everything that wasn't spoken during your time on Earth, every feeling put into one action. You then settled contently into each other's arms, watching as the stars came out and the Milky Way band stretched across the sky.

"The Winchesters are calling me," the angel spoke after awhile.

"You should go," you pulled away from him, he nodded.

"I'll be back soon."

"Don't forget to grab your trench coat from the hotel."

He smiled, "I love you."

"Love you too."
