The time of the month had come and you were caught unprepared.
Your brothers, Sam and Dean, were out so you had to call down your boyfriend.
"Cas," you said awkwardly. "Can you come down for a bit. It's an emergency- not really but I need you to get something for me. Oh! Come down outside the bathroom please-"
"Y/n!" There was a knock on the door. "Are you okay? What do you need? Are you hurt?" Your poor angel sounded so worried.
You laughed to yourself. "Relax, Cas. I just need you to run to the store-"
"I don't understand." Castiel shifted positions and put on a hand on the doorknob.
"Don't come in!" you yelled. "I- I just need you to go to the store and pick up some feminine hygiene products."
There was a pause. "'Feminine hygiene products'?"
"Pads and tampons." You groaned. "I am a female and it's shark week."
"Okay," he responded. "I can go, but I don't understand how sharks have their own week. I thought it was only on television-"
"-just go, Cas. Hurry!"
The angel arrived at the store. He was still confused but he knew what he had to get.
Castiel started drifting through the aisles. They weren't labeled other than numbers, so he was unclear to which he should go. What did these 'pads and tampons' even look like? How many did Y/n even need?
"Um, can I help you, sir?" A young woman approached the angel.
The angel turned around and nodded. "I'm looking for 'feminine hygiene products,'" he said blankly. The woman's cheeks went a bit red but she dipped her head.
"Aisle 9," she told him. "Anything else I can help you with? You seem a bit new to the whole... shebang."
"Shebang?"
"Your girlfriend needing- ah, I'm sorry. I just recommend getting her chocolate and flowers as well. She'll love you for that."
"Y/n needs chocolate? For what?"
The young woman laughed awkwardly. "Just buy it. Candy is in aisle 10. Flowers are in the front of the store." Castiel could hear her thoughts as she left, 'Poor guy, must be so embarrassed.'
He didn't know why he would be embarrassed. His emotions were limited, sure he could remember the feeling, but for this...
Castiel stopped in front of a shelf full of blue, green, and black boxes. Some of the products were even packaged. There were so many brands- Should he get one of each? He reached for a box of pads, then another. They were the same brand but one said 'regular' when the other said 'heavy flow.' This brought up many more questions...
They didn't even look like much! One was like a dinner napkin and the other was a weird tube. What was the purpose? Were sharks involved? Y/n did say 'shark week.' Maybe there was a brand with a shark logo?
He reached into his trench coat pocket and grabbed his phone.
"Y/n." He sighed, slightly flustered.
"Cas, where are you?"
"I'm at the store- I'm confused."
"I just need a box of pads and tampons."
"A box of each?"
"-yes." You sounded annoyed yet on the verge of laughter. Castiel would never be able to understand your feelings.
"Do you require a specific brand or... 'flow'?"
"Just pick a box, Cas." The phone beeped, signalling that you had hung up. The angel was wondering why you were mad, but he was taking a while. He selected a box of both pads and tampons and went to the next aisle.
There was the next problem. Which chocolate did you like best? White, milk, or dark? So he got one of each. Onto flowers... He liked the looks of the yellow daisies, so he selected that bouquet.
At the check out a man with a shiny nametag that read 'Mark' gave the angel a smirk.
"You must be a great boyfriend," he said as he scanned the items.
Castiel averted his eyes, not realizing what the big deal was. "I guess?"
"Takes guts to run an errand like this."
"I'm merely bringing what my girlfriend requested. It doesn't take guts- not in the figurative sense."
Mark scoffed. "Well, okay. So you're a seasoned warrior then?"
"I've been in many battles over the centuries." Mark laughed, leaving Castiel feeling out of place.
"There's more to come. Good luck- especially with the mood swings. I'm sure you know, though. I won't tell you what to do." He handed the bag to the angel. "Good afternoon!"
When Castiel got back to Bobby's he knocked on the bathroom door. "Y/n, I have the items you requested."
"Finally!" You gasped. The door swung open and you quickly snatched the boxes from Castiel, slamming the door afterwards. You stepped out shortly after. "Thank you so much!" You threw your arms around the angel.
"Of course," he stuttered while trying to decide where to put his hands. "There's also chocolate and flowers in the kitchen-"
"Oh my god!" you screeched, dashing away to get one of the bars. "You're the best, Cas!"
