FLASHBACK

"Where is Castiel?" an angel shouted at you, blade in hand.

"I-I don't know," you stuttered, as desperately looked for something to defend yourself with. You were cornered in an alley, the buildings to your sides were brick and slick from rain. There would be no hope for escape, as all pathways were blocked by angels.

"That's not an answer. Where is he?!"

"I said," you took a breath, "I don't know."

"Liar!" she shouted. "You know where he is."

You heard cars honking in the distance, a group of drunken men were walking down the sidewalk, and there was music coming from one of the apartments.

"Don't even think about calling for help, you'll be dead before the words even leave your mouth."

"Please, I told you before," you said with some confidence, "I don't know where Castiel is. You can torture me all you want, I've told you the truth. You're not going to get a different answer from me. You're wasting your time." You held your hands up in protective gesture, holding the gaze of the angel before you. You heard the others shift behind you. They could have been communicating in some silent way because nobody spoke for an awkwardly long amount of time.

"Fine," the angel snapped. "If you really are telling the truth, then I guess we won't need you anymore. Castiel will definitely come running when we mount your head on a stick-"

She lunged at you, the angels behind you held your arms and prevented you from dodging her blow. The knife swept across your stomach. You screamed when you felt the skin tear. Blood flowed freely and your knees gave out from underneath you.

The angels let you fall to the ground. You looked up with defiance, ready to say your last words, when a knife cut through the chest of the angel in front of you. Grace glowed through her wound and she fell with a burst of white light.

Castiel battled with the two other angels, it wasn't long before they were both dead.

"Y/n," he crouched beside you, touching your forehead, "I'm so sorry." You straightened as your wounds healed and accepted Castiel's help to stand up.

"We have to go, more angels will come," you said, tugging at his hand.

Castiel didn't budge. "This is a mistake."

"What?"

"You and me, together."

Your eyes widened and you found that words were stuck in your throat. You were surprised at the suddenness of those dreaded words.

"It's too dangerous," Castiel continued. "You could get hurt because of me. I rebelled, I'm wanted, and the angel's aren't going to stop-"

"-No! I can defend myself, you don't need to worry about me. I'm a hunter, remember? Like your friends Sam and Dean. Heck, they are more reckless than I am."

Castiel glanced down at your ripped shirt and the bloodstains. "I was handling it, I just didn't have a blade on me-," you fumbled, only to get interrupted by the trench coated angel.

"-Just admit it, Y/n! I'm sure a small part of you knows that I am dangerous to be around. I know a part of you thinks that this relationship will not benefit us." Castiel stared at you expectantly, waiting for your answer.
