Merry Christmas!

Sorry non-Destiel shippers but this will contain a teeny-tiny hint of Destiel. ;)

Deck the bunker with boughs of holly! You hummed a mindless tune as you went around the bunker, hanging up lights and snowflakes. Your brother, Dean, passed you with a smile and held up a poorly-wrapped present.

"Is that for me?" you asked innocently.

"Yes," he responded, "no peaking."

The corners of your lips curled upwards as you continued on your way towards the entrance of the bunker to hang some lights on the stairway rails. The door opened to show Sam leading Castiel down the stairs, carrying a large Christmas tree and a box of candy canes.

"Merry Christmas Eve," Castiel said to you. His voice was muffled by the amount of branches in his face.

"Merry Christmas Eve to you, too." You moved around the tree and started weaving the lights up the rail. In the corner of your eye, you watched as Sam and Cas set up the tree in the library. They took the candy canes and started placing them on the branches. Not long after, Kevin came over with a box of ornaments of his own.

"Hey Y/n!" Sam shouted. "Do you have lights for the tree!"

"Yup! Give me a moment-" You plugged the stairway lights into an outlet and watched with satisfaction as they lit up. Your next challenge was to get lights on the tree without getting sap into your hair. Luckily, your brothers were kind enough to help you. "Now all we need is an angel tree-topper."

Castiel frowned and looked up the tree. "I don't think it will support my weight."

You and Kevin shared a look and burst into laughter, the low chuckles of your brothers joined in. "I- I don't understand."

"Not a real angel, Cas," you said. "A smaller replica that was designed to go on top of the tree, hence 'tree-topper.'"

"I see." The frown disappeared.

One by one, everyone left to get their presents and placed them under the tree. Most of the wrapping paper was actually newspaper, but it didn't matter.

Dean gasped. "Almost forgot!" He disappeared to his room and reappeared with some mistletoe. Your brother hung it up in the kitchen with a mischievous smile. "Finishing touch," he said casually.

You and Sam raised your eyebrows. "What?" Dean shrugged.

You scoffed. "Anyways, Charlie is coming over in the morning. So is Mrs. Tran and Garth. Mrs. Tran is bringing some food for all of us, and Garth is supplying himself. I suggest we all get a good night's sleep."

It was cold when you woke up. With a shiver, you wrapped a blanket around yourself and glanced out the window. It looked pretty early but snow covered the grounds and coated every tree branch. It was a winter wonderland out there...

You smiled and hopped out of bed, heading to the kitchen to make some coffee.

"Merry Christmas, Cas," you heard Dean say from the direction you were going. You heard the coffee maker already going.

"Merry Christmas, Dean," the angel responded. Their voices lowered into hushed conversations, careful not to wake anyone up. You rounded the corner to see them talking casually under the mistletoe.

They noticed the mistletoe right as you noticed them.

Dean smirked.

"I don't understand."

"It's mistletoe, Cas. Means you have to kiss whoever's under it."

"Oh."

Dean grabbed Cas' tie yet Cas was the one to close the gap between them. Your eyes widened because you shipped them so hard. You ducked back around the corner, giving them some privacy. You noticed Sam walking down the hallway with his hair sticking up in every direction.

"Merry Christmas," you whispered as quietly as you could.

Sam smoothed down his hair with a questioning look. You tipped your head to the direction Dean and Cas were standing. He peeked around the corner then immediately faced you.

"I knew it!" he responded as loud as he dared.

"We should give them a warning we're here."

"We saw nothing, though."

"Right." You and Sam shook hands in agreement. You raised your voice. "Merry Christmas, Sam."

"Merry Christmas, Y/n!" There was the sound of shuffled footsteps, obviously hinting that Dean and Cas had broke apart. You and your brother rounded the corner and innocently offered Christmas greetings to the not-so-couple couple.

Dean, with a crinkled shirt walked over to grab some coffee while Cas subtly fixed his tie. You shared another look with Sam then walked over to Dean to get your own coffee.

It wasn't long until Kevin was up and your guests arrived. You and Mrs. Tran were in the kitchen, preparing the food while Castiel and Charlie were talking loudly. Sam, Dean, and Garth were catching up on hunts.

Garth had also brought his wife along, of course. She shortly headed over to the kitchen after meeting everyone to help out with dinner and talk. Dean also swapped with you for dinner preparations so you could talk to Kevin.

You were all seated in the library. Opened presents lay in front of you and a plate of food to your side.

"-so get this," Sam said with traces of laughter in his voice. "Dean got into a fight with a pigeon." Dean froze, a bit of ham falling out of his mouth.

"What?!" Charlie slapped Sam's shoulder. "He did not!"

"He did too!"

"What happened?" she snorted.

"We needed to be able to communicate with this German Shepard who was the only witness to a murder case, so we used a spell that allowed Dean to understand him. Little did we know, the link between them would also make Dean have some doglike traits as well as give him the ability to understand all animals. Needless to say, the argument with the pigeon got pretty heated after it pooped on his car!"

"Did not," Dean grumbled.

"You pulled a gun on it, Dean. In a parking lot with people."

The group snorted back a couple laughs and you looked back fondly at the memory.

"Oh! I have one! The rabbit's foot- I was the only one who didn't touch it. My, you two were some clumsy fools. Especially Sam."

Dean smiled. "I'm Batman."

"I read about that!" Charlie squealed. "It was hilarious." You and your brothers shared a collective groan at the mention of the Supernatural books.

So the night went on moods merry and bright. The candy canes slowly disappeared off the tree and the wrapping paper on the floor was slowly being picked up. You had brought your haul into your room and found respective places to put each item.

This was a good Christmas...

You smiled to yourself and listened to the soft carols echoing through the hallways.
