Jermaine's POV 

It's LaToya's birthday today and I'm going over to see her. I haven't mentioned it to Michael yet and I'm not even sure if I will because, I'm not sure how he's going to react. Him and Ocean have been so happy lately since they got visitation and I don't them getting upset again.

I head into the kitchen for breakfast and Michael is sat quietly eating his breakfast while Ocean is slamming about looking for something and is clearly pissed off about something. "What's up with her?" I ask Michael sitting next to him at the table. "She wants chocolate spread on her toast but she can't find it" he mumbles and carries on eating. "Oh, had the last of it last night"

"WHAT THE FUCK!!!? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!!?" Ocean snaps slamming the cupboard door closed. "Relax! Their's some peanut butter in the cupboard" I shrug not seeing the big deal. "She doesn't eat peanuts" Michael mutters quietly. "Well how about we all just have a cup of coffee and I'll head to the store and get some more chocolate spread of it bothers you that much"

"Or drink coffee, just let it go she'll be fine in a minute" Michael says calmly "well what if..."

"JUST FORGET IT!!!!! I'LL JUST STARVE TO DEATH!!!" Ocean screams storming out of the room. "Damn! what's gotten into her? she got her period or something?"

"If she has, she hasn't told me" Michael shrugs and I can see he's upset about something. "What's going on? Everything ok with you two?" I ask concerned. "We're fine" he shrugs "mother called earlier... Asked what time you were coming over" he mumbles and I immediately know why he's so upset. "I was gonna tell you but you guys seemed so happy and I didn't want you getting upset over nothing"

"Why are you going over there? I thought you were on our side?" He asks finally looking up from his food. "Of course I'm on your side! I'm just going over because it's LaToya's birthday that's all" I try to reassure him. "Why don't you and Ocean come with me?"

"For what? She doesn't bother to call and see how we're doing so why should I care about her?" He shrugs. "She still your sister" I remind him. "And DJs my son! and you want me to go to visit a family that doesn't give a fuck about me while my son is in the house just next to them? And why would they want me there anyway? I'm nothing to them anymore remember?" I sigh shaking my head "I'm sorry I didn't think about that. I'm not gonna be there that long I promise. I'm just going to see LaToya" he shrugs disinterested. "It's not really my business or place to tell you what to do"

"I'll be back later ok? Call me if you need anything?" I tell him changing the topic seeing he's clearly getting upset with it and he nods smiling through pursed lips "we'll be fine"

Michael POV

When Jermaine leaves I hear Ocean coming out of the bathroom so I go upstairs to see her

"You feeling better?" I ask going into the room. "I'm fine now" she smiles through pursed lips. "Is Jermaine really going to see your them?" She asks and I nod "it's LaToya's birthday so he's going over to see her for awhile"

"Their gonna turn him against us" She says worriedly and I shake my head taking her hand and pulling her onto my lap. "Jermaine won't let that happen" I smile trying to reassure her but she still looks nervous about it. "How about we go to the store and get that chocolate spread you wanted" I ask trying to cheer her up" and she smiles through pursed lips "sure, you locked the doors and windows and I'll unplug everything" she says getting up from my lap. Ocean's been really safety conscious lately and I think it's all the stress of what's been going on lately. I know I've not been at my new job that long but I'm going to call in sick today so Ocean's isn't left alone all day and to spend some quality time with her just the two of us.
