Michael's trial

Michael's POV

I'm in my room getting ready and Ocean comes over adjusting my tie. I don't say anything and she pulls me in for a hug. "you can do this" she whispers and I nod. "he's gonna be there" I say shakily. "and so will I" she smiles reassuring me and I pull her closer to me.

Today's the day of my trail and I've been on edge for days knowing I'm gonna have to stand there and tell a room full of people all the details about what happened. Ocean hasn't said much on the topic and she doesn't need to. She already knows how scared I am about today. Her trials not until next week and I'm more terrified about hers than mine. Jason said that even though Luther's team are gonna do their best to paint me out as a liar and a bully and are gonna bring up alot of stuff. My case is a pretty cut and dry, but Ocean's on the other hand is going to be harder, because of her family claiming that's she's being bullied into it and that she's saying it to try and get DJ back and their lawyers are gonna be even tougher on her  which terrifies me more than today. Jason's been through everything over and over and he has a good friend who's going to represent us since he can't because he's giving evidence for us.

There's a light tap on the door and LaToya comes in. "are you ready to go?" She asks softly and I nod. Me and her still aren't getting along, but she's still been really supportive about today.

We get to the court house and Kyle my lawyer is going over a few last minute things. "what the hell are they doing here!?" LaToya frowns and I turn around and see Jessica and Sherri. "didn't they tell you? We were asks to stand witness" Jessica smirks. "but you weren't there?" Ocean says confused. "no, but the courts still need to know the whole story, about what a lying conniving drug addict your boyfriend is... We wouldn't want an innocent man to go to jail would we?"

"husband actualy" I smirk and she looks at me confused and Kyle takes my arm pulling me away from everybody. "don't let them get to you. We don't need you losing your cool up there" he advices me.

Diamond: (Luther's lawyer)So you were close with Michael?

Luther:he was like a son to me. my wife and I used to go stay at our cabin in the summer and my brother and his family would come stay with us. Michael was a very shy boy, he didn't have many friends even his own siblings would pick on him. In alot of ways I felt sorry for him. So I'd take him places. Fishing, arcades.. Stuff like that. Even bought him some toys from time to time. I felt sorry for him and I just wanted to be there for him and let him know he had at least one friend in this world.

Diamond: and then what happened?

Luther:Due to financial reasons. My wife and I had to sell to the cabin and I didn't see much of them after that

Diamond: So you had no contact with Michael?

Luther: I'd see him at family events. Maybe.. Once or twice a year. But other than that nothing. Until recently.

Diamond:and how did you come into contact with him?

Luther:a few months ago he just turned up at my house. There was no call. It was completely out of the blue

"what the fuck is he talking about? I never went to him! Or got picked on" I frown, shaking my head. "Just stay calm" Kyle whispers

Luther: he told me he'd gotten himself in some trouble and he needed my help

Diamond: did he say what kind of trouble?

Luther: He didn't go into detail, but he told me he owed people money and people were after him. He was very agitated and he didn't seem himself. I know I should have questioned him more before I gave him the money, but I just wanted to help. Like I said, Michael was like a son to me at one time.
