Ocean's POV

It's been a week since the courts granted us full custody of DJ. Even though Michael and I just wanted to pack his stuff and take him, we've had to do a whole bunch of paper work first and agreed to a transition plan to move him back with us slowly to make the move as easy as possible on him. As much as we hate the fact he's still not with us properly yet we know pretty soon he will be.

We get to my mothers pick him up for his third sleep over of the week and unlike all the other times she comes out to great us with a huge smile on her face. She's been like this with us ever since the courts said we were getting DJ back and we know exactly why she's doing it. She's requested that she be allowed visits to see DJ and knows that she won't get it unless Michael and I agree to, it because grandparents don't have any legal rights... Which is never going to happen "hey! Duncan's just finishing off breakfast. Do you two want to come inside and wait?"

"We did ask you to have him ready for 9" I point out to her "I know, but he was a little cranky this morning and it took awhile to get him to eat his breakfast. You know what kids are like. Especially when you change a child's routine"

"we never have this problem with either of our kids" I shrug going inside. "mommy! Daddy!" DJ squeals excitedly rushing over to us. "hey, buddy!?" Michael smiles picking him up. "can we go now!?"

"Duncan, please finish your breakfast first" my mother says and he completely ignores her. "DJ, go eat your breakfast and then we can go" he motions him back to the table and he happily goes back and begins eating. "you have to be a little more stern with him. You know what kids are like" I smile at her through pursed lips. "how about some coffee while your waiting?"

"I don't drink coffee" I shrug sitting at the table with Neveah on my lap. "so what are your plans with him today?"

"Hmm.. How about we go to Grandma and Grandpa's for sleepover tonight?" I turn to DJ and he nods excitedly. "if you've made plans and need a babysitter. We can always change the days and he can stay with me to..."

"we don't need a babysitter" Michael cuts her off. "we're having a barbecue with our family to celebrate DJ coming home"

"your gonna be partying with two children in your care?" She says trying not to look annoyed. "yup! That's the whole point. The party IS for DJ" she's about to speak but she's cut off by DJ rushing over with and empty bowl. "all finished. Look!"

"well done, buddy! Now let's get going" I smile at him getting up from the table. "Give grandma a kiss before you go sweetie" My mother smiles at him as we open the front door to leave. "Nope!" DJ says rushing out of the door and straight to our car.

Michael's POV

After picking up DJ from Jessica's we went to the park with the kids then KFC for some lunch. "when can I come and live with you forever?" DJ mumbles with a mouth full of chicken. "we have to do something called a transition first, but you will soon... And don't talk with you mouth full" I smile at him. And he nods finishing his food. "I can't wait. I hate living with grandma. She's mean"

"in what way?" Ocean cuts in and he goes silent for a moment "I don't want to make you both sad" he mutters. "we don't keep things from each other remember? Even of it makes someone sad" she tells him softly. "she calls you a bad word for doing things with daddy and she says me and Veah are only here because daddy is a bully and something called a rapists. is that a bad word to?"

"she said that to you!?" I frown and he shakes his head. "to Auntie Sherri, they always say it... I made you sad now" he pouts getting upset. "you haven't made us sad sweetie" Ocean smiles at him "don't worry about all that stuff. it doesn't matter what your grandma says. All that matters is that your daddy and I love you and you sister very much and always will no matter what" she says to him softly then places her hand on my thigh and smiles at me.
