Anyone here know about social anxiety disorder? Well it's basically a mental condition where someone gets extreme and unreasonable fear of social situations. It's not just nervousness of talking to people or like shyness. It's anxiety to the point of panic attacks. It's like feeling like you're constantly in a court room and facing a judge when talking to people. I suffered from this when I was younger. I avoided talking to people for a long time and the awkwardness always made me so uncomfortable. My brain also registered what people said about me as something negative and self degrading. It's not like I did it on purpose. It made my self-esteem drop significantly. It's also the reason I didn't have any friends until high school came around. I got help and eventually through constantly exposing myself to my fear. I won't go into details, but I can say now that I'm doing much better.

I've seen those people who make fun of mentally ill people and it makes me angry, especially since I have an autistic brother. Even in my school there are those people who make fun of the mentally ill students.

I just wanted to say this because I'm pretty sure there are those who suffer from mental disorders even though people can't see it, it's not their fault that they behave so abnormally. It's why I want to go into mental health science, to give a chance to help those suffering mentally.
