Came back from Suicide Squad and...well...I have mixed feelings. I'm kind of with the crowd that thought the movie was...meh. That doesn't mean you should judge it before you see based on what I say this is just my thoughts. Some stuff they did great on like the characters were amazing in my opinion, and the effects. And some stuff not so great, like the Joker's performance I did not like Jared Leto as the Joker he just doesn't sell the crazy character the Joker is supposed to have. Honestly when he tries to act crazy he looks like he's having an orgasm in my opinion.
We don't see much of the main villain either, and I was like "Ok? And?" I wanted to know more of the motivation behind what she was doing, just a sliver of more explanation. That's where I wanted more talking in the explanations.
However the rest of the villains? Phenomenal like Harley Quinn and Deadshot were my two favorites.
Another was the music, music fit the scenes, and I'm talking big movie music. They did through some pop culture songs in there.
The story was ehhhh I'm gonna be honest and say it's a like a recycled Avengers story...structure wise. I mean you have the "big boss" who wants to gather these great big icons except these icons are villains to defeat a great big evil, or just use them because there's a bigger threat. And since we're talking Superman/DC world here there's definitely a threat. But the characters are what made it creative.
There was a lot more talking than action sometimes which kind of threw me off. But the introduction of the villain characters was fantastic.
And the ending, I kind of wish they ended it differently and added more mystery as well as a bit of angst. No spoilers though.
Overall it was a good movie to see, but maybe too overhyped. Then again I have yet to read the comics.
