12. Getting ready

The week end came and me and Hailey had to search for prom dresses.

'' So where do you wanna start?'' Hailey asked as we entered the mall.

'' I have no idea. I don't come here for dresses.''

'' Yeah, me neither. Let's just search for a decent one.''

'' Where were you and Denis when i called last night?'' she asked as we started to walk.

'' We were going to my secret place.''

'' You're serious? He knows where it is and i don't?''

'' Sorry.''

'' Damn it. I'm gonna find it someday. You two are fucking strange you know?''

'' What do you mean?''

'' You two have a really strange relationship.''

She was right. We had a strange relationship. And there's a good reason to say that. We live together, we share the same bed, we hold hands, he calls me beautiful and still, we are just best friends. And that's not how best friends really work so we are a strange couple.

'' Yeah, i guess you're right.''

'' I'm sure i am.''

'' So what are you gonna do with your green hair?''

'' I have no idea. Look! There's a shop that looks good.''

We entered the shop and started looking for a dress. Hailey got a black one that was short and it looked really beautiful.

'' I like this one.'' she said smiling.

'' Then try it.''

'' Okay.''

After one minute she got out looking beautiful.

'' Wow Hailey this looks so good on you. Ben's gonna love it.''

'' Thank you. I hope he will because i love it. Did you find one?''

'' No i didn't.''

'' What about this dusty pink one?'' Hailey asked.

'' It looks gorgeous.'' i said looking at it.

It was a long beautiful dusty pink dress.

'' I don't think i'll pull this one off.''

'' Of course you will. Go try it.'' she said pushing me.

'' Okay i will.''

I put the dress on and looked in the mirror. I couldn't believe the person i was seeing was me.

'' Alexis, you look absolutely stunning.'' Hailey said.

'' I know.''

'' You have to buy it.''

'' Okay let's buy them.''

I got back to the apartment where Denis was sitting on the couch watching tv.

'' I'm back.''

'' Wow that didn't take too long. Did you find a dress?''

'' Yes i did.''

'' Can i see it?'' he asked getting up and wrapping his arms around my waist.

'' Of course you can't.''

'' What? Why?''

'' Because we live together that doesn't mean you're gonna see it earlier.'' i said teasing him.

'' Oh come on. At least tell me how it looks.''

'' No Denis.''

'' Pleeeease?''

'' It's dusty pink and long.''

'' Yes. I won.''

'' But you don't know how it looks.''

'' But i can imagine you're gonna look gorgeous in it.''

'' I hope so.''

'' I know you will.'' he said kissing my forehead.

The prom was going to be on friday as it was the last day of school before the holidays. The days got away really fast as everybody was excited for it. But Hailey was so excited she wouldn't shut up all week. On friday i was getting out of school to go and get ready just to come back to school some hours later. Me and Hailey leaved to a salon to do our hair and make up as we didn't have any idea how to do any of this. Hailey got curly hair and i got a messy bun. Then we got the make up done and we leaved to our houses. I really like the hair and the make up. My make up had some gold rose colours and Hailey's had some green to compliment her hair.

I entered the apartment running in the bedroom so Denis wouldn't see me before i put the dress on.

'' Really?'' Denis asked through the bedroom door.

'' You could've just say don't look.'' he laughed.

'' Yeah but you would cheat and look anyway.'' i laughed.

'' Probably.'' he laughed.

'' I'll wait for you.'' he finished.

I got the dress and the shoes on. I looked amazing. I was shocked that was me. I opened the door to see Denis amazement when he saw me.

'' Woah. You look fucking beautiful.''

'' You look good too.'' i smiled.

'' Yeah but you're amazing. Everybody's gonna want to dance with you.''

'' But i'm yours so i'm not gonna dance with them.'' i smiled.

'' I'm glad to hear that.'' he said taking my hand.

'' Let's go beautiful.''
