19 ✣ Magnus The Rouge

We walked in and the ground below us fell away. We landed on sandstone and obsidian and as I opened my eyes I saw the amulet rolling across a one block wide bridge, below it was lava, and lots of it. The amulet almost fell of but it then stopped at the other side of the bridge. We got up and we began to carefully walk across the bridge. I man walked out.

"You are completely surrounded by hundreds of hidden death traps, one step closer..." the man was defiantly in his late twenties or early thirties but he had a slight rasp. "And KABOOM!" he pulled a lever and some TNT exploded. He picked up the amulet and there he was, the king of Boomtown, the rouge of the order, leader of the greifers, Magnus the Rouge. He had a large nose and wore a mask and a green suit with gloves.

"It's Magnus! We totally got caught by Magnus... er... I think we're gonna die now" Axel jumped up and down.

"Did you really think you could sneak up on me? Ha! You two are the worst greifers I've ever met" Magnus said.

"Hey, no greifers here, no way, we came from way out of town to find you" I told him.

"Oh really?" He asked "I mean, that guy, he's got 'greifer' written all over him" Magnus pointed his finger at Axel, he began to toss the amulet around.

"Yeah, well, that's because he's your biggest fan! Look at him" I exclaimed

"Well not like 'biggest' fan" Axel muttered under his breath.

"Right, so tell me 'somethin 'not greifers', how'd you find me? Who are you working for?" he asked "for two noobs, i'm impressed you found me."

"Gabriel sent us on this mission" I told him.

"Gabriel? Ha ha! You're seriously not telling be you're buddy-buddy with Gabriel, you know how often people try and tell me that one?" Magnus laughed "this is sounding pretty weird, dudes" BOOM! More TNT went off in our faces.  I began to run, dodging TNT. "Who are you really? Why are you here?" he asked.

"We're here to reassemble the Order of the Stone" I told him.

"You have me intrigued,  go on" the amulet glowed brighter than ever.

"There's a huge monster eating up the entire world and nothing can stop it, that's why Gabriel told us to reunite the order" I told him, walking slowly "Magnus you gotta come with us, you might be the only chance we got!" I exclaimed.

"Give me one good reason why, even for a second, I should come with you" he said "I am the ruler of this place."

"You're supposed to be a hero Magnus and right now, the world needs a hero" I told him " you can come with us and help us stop this disaster."

"All this... stuff you've told me, you expect me to just take your word for it?" he asked me "two strangers with wild stories, and nothing to show for it."

"Are you that paranoid You really can't trust anyone?" I asked.

"That's how I've survived this long" he said.

"Please... just trust us, just for a minute, okay?" I asked. Magnus sighed.

"Okay, okay, you've sold me, i'm in" he said quickly.  "Oh, but we might have a little bit of a problem getting out of here" he told us, walking closer.

"Huh? You're Magnus, you can just walk right out of here" Axel told him.

"Hello? I don't know if you've taken a look at this place, it's kinda full of greifers" Magnus walked past us.

"But that's kinda awesome, right?" Axel asked. 

"Ha, no, you've heard of the 'challenging the king for his crown' right?" we nodded "well it's kind of their thing" he told us "so as long as i'm king, I can't leave this tower."

"I know how you feel" Axel told him.

"No you don't!" Magnus exclaimed.

"We could sneak you out" I told him.

"They'll spot me, I'm too good, and they're too eager, it's like a vicious cycle that just keeps me here" Magnus told us "simply put, that's life as King of Boomtown, not as fun as you think."

"Just choose a new king and then come with us" I told him, I saw sadness flicker in his amber eyes.

"Look I've beaten them dozens of times, and none of them are worthy, they'll see right through it" he said, gritting his teeth and crossing his arms "But you, you're the new comer with the golden amulet , by now there'll probably be all sorts of rumors about how awesome you are, if you beat me, then I'll be able to leave" he said "I can't believe I never thought of it before!"

"Well, y-yeah, assuming I won, wouldn't I be stuck here then?" I asked him.

"Nah, you're not as legendary as me, should be easy enough to throw another fight or just give up the crown to a way lower level greifer" he told me "the trick is don't become a legend, but looking at you, I don't think..." I narrowed my eyes at him "well... anyways... oh, ho ho, this is gonna be good, I'm actually excited about this! But we gotta make it look legit" Magnus told me. "The Death Bowl has never seen the carnage that we're about to create."

"Uh whats the 'Death Bowl'?"
