A day had passed since the swamp and we were all eating the cake I had almost died getting.
"Say what you want about witches, they sure can bake a cake!" Gabriel exclaimed.
"We need to thank Jesse for this, after what happened yesterday..." Lukas said.
"Guys, it's not like i'm gonna..." I looked up to see a giant wall. "Wow..."
"It's not like your gonna 'wow'? I don't get it" I pointed to the wall. "Oh... wow."
"Let me raise your wow to a 'woahhhhh'" Lukas said.
"Welcome to the Far Lands, my friends" Soren said and we approached the wall.
"So this is the edge of our world?" Lukas asked.
"Well we seem to be at the corner of it" Soren corrected him. We approached the giant wall and we found a hole towards the bottom of the wall. "In here I suppose" we walked in to find a huge maze.
"It won't do us any good to just sit here, the best thing we can do is to just go through" Lukas said and we all entered the maze. After only a few minutes, I found what looked like a stone waterfall.
"Though the Far Lands are perilous, they are definitely fascinating" Soren approached me from behind. I walked forward a few steps and I saw some vines draping along the sides.
"Jesse!" Soren shouted. A horde of Zombies began to approach us.
"Quick! Climb the vines!" I exclaimed and everyone obeyed. Now we were separated.
"Let's just... head towards that building over there!" I shouted at the group. "Hope I don't get lost" I muttered. After a hour or two of walking, monsters, swords breaking, and using all my arrows, I found the exit. I walked out with a sigh and there was a cliff which below was a gaping bottomless pit. A few blocks away from it was some sort of contraption I knew I would never in my dreams figure out.
"Is anyone there?" I heard Olivia's voice.
"Olivia?" I called and she walked out, Reuben at her side.
"Jesse! Thank goodness! That maze is crazy!" she shouted.
"Yeah!" I agreed "Wheres Soren, Gabriel, and Lukas?"
"We split up a while ago" she looked at the exit of the maze "I hope they're alright."
"Don't worry, they will be" I told her.
"What is that?" Olivia asked, pointing to the contraption.
"I don't know, maybe you could figure it out?" I shrugged and Olivia walked up to it.
"It looks like a flying barge" she told me.
"You think you could figure out how it works?" I asked.
"I don't know... I think it's out of my league" she sighed "I wish I had more time to study with Ellegaard... she even told me I didn't have the potential to be a great engineer..."
"Then prove you do have potential" I told her.
"Jesse, this is Ellegaard we're talking about, she's the worlds greatest engineer," Olivia began "I'm pretty sure she can spot out someone with or without potential."
"She doesn't know you, Olivia," I told her "Who's the one who won the engineering contest three years in a row?"
"Me."
"Who's done the successful redstone for all our work?"
"Alright, I get your point... I'll look again" Olivia said and began to examine the machine. "Wait a minute, I think I see what this does! Jesse, take this piston, craft it into a sticky piston and then a redstone block." I walked over to a crafting table and opened a chest that was next to it. I grabbed some slime and the dust and crafted the things Olivia told me to craft and placed them on the contraption.
"Alright, we need Flint and Steel to get it started" Olivia told me.
"Hurry! This way!" I heard frantic voices and soon Soren, Gabriel, and Lukas appeared from the maze, a horde of zombies were following them.
"Get on the barge! Hurry!" I shouted and everyone jumped on and I got it started with my flint and steel.
"Are we good?" I asked everyone.
"For the moment..." Soren replied, his voice shaking.
"I remembered something!" Gabriel exclaimed "Didn't Ellegaard build a machine like this once?"
"Yes... in the Nether..." Soren nodded, because of how small the barge was, everyone was shoulder to shoulder and I could feel Soren violently shaking in fear.
"And you were terrified of flying on it!"
"W-What? Stuff and n-nonsense!" Soren laughed it off and looked down and his breath began to quicken.
"It's okay, Soren, I'm afraid of flying too" I told him jokingly.
"R-Really?" he asked.
"No, I just wanted to see if you'd bite" I chuckled slightly. The barge stopped and we got off.
"That was fun" Gabriel smiled.
"You mean terrifying and unnecessary?" Soren crossed his arms. We all looked up to see Ivor's laboratory.
