31 ✣ Pretender Man

I walked over to Olivia who was still digging through a chest.

"Hey, Olivia" I approached her and she stood up. "What do you think the others have found?" I asked.

"I dunno, Soren's mansion looked huge, but the lab seemed to be where the real answers were" Olivia replied. I then looked at a chest beside the one Olivia was looking in and opened it. I found a piece of paper and pulled it out.

"I found something" I said and Olivia quickly turned her head.

"Whatcha got?" she asked.

"It's definitely some sort of crafting recipe," I told her. The recipe was extremely simple. Just six clay blocks in a formation. "But why would Soren need a recipe for a shape that simple?" I asked.

"Because they're not for Soren... they're for the Enderman!" Olivia exclaimed "This must be what he's trying to teach them to build!" I looked around the lab and spotted a few clay blocks, one right beside me on a bookshelf, one on the floor next to some armor stands, one by a bunch of dead plants, and one on some sort of contraption, which I grabbed all of them . I looked up at the armor stands, one was extremely tall and the other one was just a normal, everyday, stand. The one that was normal had what appeared to be a Enderman suit on it.

"Olivia! Check it out!" I exclaimed.

"An Enderman... suit?" Olivia looked at the stand in confusion. "Either Soren's got a very unique fashion sense or... wait a second..."

"This must be the disguise Soren was talking about on the recording" I added.

"In order to walk amongst the Enderman, you have to become an Enderman!" Olivia exclaimed.

"And smell like one, apparently" I got a whiff of the suit and it reeked like an Enderman.

"Okay, so, if Soren is using those blueprints to teach the Enderman to build, and there's a disguise missing from the stand..." Olivia began.

"He must be conducting his experiment right now!" I exclaimed.

"Of course! The missing disguise is the one he had to put on before going outside!" Olivia added.

"Which means if we're going to get to Soren... we have to go out there to do it" I looked outside. "That leftover Enderman suit would fit me, I guess it's time to play dress up" I walked up to the suit and took it off the stand and put it on. After I had the suit portion on, I grabbed the head. "How do I look?" I asked.

"I don't think you want my honest opinion" Olivia said "But... it just might do the trick" I approached the exit to the lab.

"Hang on a second, Soren in disguise will look like any old Enderman... and so will you... how are you going to find him? Walk up to every Enderman and ask 'Hey, are you Soren?'" Olivia said "The hole point of the disguise is to avoid that kind of attention."

"I just need to stand out without being seen, like a shadow in the night" I told her.

"What...? Try not to die, okay? I'd really hate to watch that, from behind this protective glass..." Olivia said.

"Thanks for vote of confidence..." I walked out the door and I was back into the... okay I really need a better name for that... flock... I was back into the flock of Enderman. A Enderman approached me and looked down at me. I was sweating like crazy. It then walked away. In fear, I walked back inside. When I did, I noticed a ladder, which I climbed.

Upstairs, I saw another clay block, which I grabbed and climbed back down. There were no more clay blocks inside. I gathered all my bravery and wend back outside. I looked around and saw a Enderman holding a clay block. I approached it and carefully grabbed the block. The Enderman glared down at me.

I slowly pulled the block out from it's hand and it screamed. I quickly walked away and noticed a glowing crafting grid on the ground. I placed the clay blocks on the grid, I had completed the craft.

"False evidence of Enderman intelligence, accomplished" I whispered. The Enderman began to approach me. I began to panic "Uh... nothing to see here, guys... just walk away."

"I am sorry about this, but... it has to look real" a familiar voice said and I turned my head in the direction of the voice, everything went black.
