27 ✣ Grinder

I drew my gold sword and raced down a platform. Petra punched a creeper off, which blew a hole in a platform where Zombies came stumbling into view. As we reached a small flight of stairs, a creeper began to approach me and Petra.

"This one's mine" I narrowed my eyes at the green monster and raced down the stairs and swung my sword at it. Creepers were extremely light so I easily flung the creeper into a wall where it exploded, however, I had been knocked down. Cave Spiders came crawling out of the hole and I watched Petra kill one of them and knock the other two over. I pushed myself up and saw Lukas, Reuben, Olivia, and Axel dash behind Petra. I followed the group, jumping down from one platform to the one below. I heard a growl and I turned my head to see a zombie approaching Axel.

I dashed over to the zombie and knocked it off the platform.

"Jesse! Get down!" Axel cried out, I turned around and saw another zombie, Axel punched it off the platform as well. "Who want's more?!" Axel exclaimed.

"You're asking for more?!" I questioned, we ran down another flight of stairs and I saw a skeleton shooting arrows at Olivia.

"Jesse!" she called and I turned to the skeleton.

"Hey, ugly!" I exclaimed, the skeleton turned it's head.

"Watch out!" Olivia exclaimed as a arrow came hurtling towards me, I ducked and raised my sword at the skeleton.

"Hey, bonehead! I'm talking to you!" Olivia exclaimed "Anytime now, Jesse!" I ran towards the skeleton and knocked it off the platform. We both jumped down to another platform and I saw Lukas kicking a Cave Spider away. The spider then jumped at me but I ducked and if fell off the platform. A horde of Spiders came crawling towards us, a wave of water came crashing down and we clung onto the side of the platform as the Cave Spiders fell off. I hear Reuben squeal and I watched him race across another platform.

"Reuben! Wait up!" I exclaimed and chased after him. I saw Petra swing her iron sword at a creeper, killing it, but another creeper approached her from behind. I jumped down the stairs and knocked two creepers off the platform. we jumped down and hit a platform that wall further down.

"Ow, that hurt" I said and got up off the ground.

"The amulet! It's over there!" Lukas exclaimed, pointing to the amulet, which glowed white. It was about two or three platforms below us. Axel and Reuben ran down a flight of stairs and water came pouring down, along with a few monsters, the amulet was picked up by the water and it hung over the edge.

'We've got to help them!" I exclaimed.

"What about the amulet?" Lukas inquired.

"You get it!" I excaimed and jumped down to the platform Axel and Reuben were on. "Get away from my pig!" I exclaimed and killed two zombies with my sword.

"Got it!" Lukas exclaimed and held the amulet up.

"Jesse behind you!" Axel exclaimed and punched a skeleton, a creeper began to approach me, I knocked it down but a wave of water came rushing towards us I fell off the platform and was falling towards the pistons that would certainly crush me. A creeper was falling alongside me, I pushed it forward and it blew a hole in the moving pistons, I fell through, hitting water. I saw the group fall into the water as well and we all seemed to be sucked into various pipes. I came crashing down on stone along with Reuben, who was on top of me. I pushed him off and got up, I seemed to be in the loot room. Various things that monsters dropped traveling through tubes. Everyone else fell, except... Axel!

"Hey guys, wheres Axel?" I asked.

"I could have sworn he was right behind me up there" Olivia replied. I then saw Axel fall on top of Lukas, second time today.

"No, no, don't worry, I'm totally fine" Axel said smiling.

"Why?" Lukas muttered.

"Of crap... I'm sorry" Axel said, Lukas began to push himself up but slipped. "I knew you'd come for us, I just knew it, Reuben had is doubts" Axel looked to Reuben who he had picked up and was under his arm "I owe you, and if there ever comes a time when I can pay you back for that... I will pay it back... with interest."

"I'm just glad you're okay, both of you" I said.

"Thanks, Jesse" Axel smiled "There's something different about you, Jesse... you're" Axel stopped in his tracks "Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, this is where all the loot gets sorted, right?!" Axel was looking down at the loot that was traveling through the tubes below us.

"That's exactly what it is" Olivia said.

"See that? Things are starting to turn around" Axel pushed me aside and ran over to the loot. Petra approached me.

"It was cool what you did up there, we stick together, and we'll be fine" Petra smiled "It's good to know you're not letting all this get to your head."

"I'm just keeping the seat warm for you" I said but Petra shook her head.

"Everyone's looking at you to lead" Petra told me "Well, actually... maybe not everyone" Petra looked to Lukas who was holding the amulet. He uttered something about the amulet.

"See any sign of Soren on there?" I asked.

"Not sure, yet" Lukas said " Hang on a minute... he's close... Soren's close by!" Lukas exclaimed and we both looked to a door "He's gotta be... this way, look how bright it is!" the amulet shut off. A groaning noise sounded above us. Water began to pour down from the pipes that had dropped us and a bunch of monsters fell with it.

"Go, go, go, go, go!" I exclaimed and we all ran through the door.

"There's two thing I hate, it's running and monsters!" Axel exclaimed. We then climbed up a small stairway and we all looked down at a black void.

"Holy crap... an End Portal?" Olivia gaped.

"That's the way out" I said.

'Wait... what... look" Lukas panted and we all looked back at Petra who was fighting the monsters that had fallen. She couldn't do that on her own!

"Petra!" I cried out and ran over to her "Get away from them!" I pulled out my sword and killed the monsters. "I think I'm starting to get the hang of this" I smiled and pulled Petra up, I grabbed her hand and we ran to the portal.

"Jump!" I cried and I leaped into the portal
