My eyes adjusted to the bright room. It appeared to look like the overworld, or in other words, where the Wither Storm was. I looked around, confused.
"What do you see?" Lukas asked.
"Please don't say more stairs..." Petra sighed.
"I think I'm seeing things" I walked forward. "It's like another world up here, a brand new, totally unspoiled world!"
"So bright..." Lukas said, he had entered... whatever this was as well as everyone else. We began to walk down a hill but Axel tripped and fell on... Lukas... again... how many times today? Five? Probably.
"Ow... that's my body, Axel... my broken, battered body..." Lukas muttered. I began to look at a 'tree', it had a familiar texture that belonged to something that wasn't a tree.
"Hold on a second" I muttered. I heard Olivia say something about the ground. I touched the 'tree' "What in the...?! it's made of wool! This tree, the grass, it's all wool!"
"You're telling me, we've been resting all our hopes on this guy, and this hole time he's been building some totally artificial Happyland?!" Lukas snapped, he held a block of dark green wool.
"Well... at least it's real wool" Axel gave a little smile.
"It's real evidence Soren is crazy!" Lukas exclaimed.
"Could it be he just... missed home?" I asked.
"If you miss home... you go and visit, you don't build an exact replica," Lukas pointed out "We came here for nothing!" Lukas threw his piece of wool on the ground and began to walk away. "What are we even supposed to do know?" Lukas asked.
"Whats the matter with you? Why are you acting like this?" I asked.
"Just look around, Jesse! If the greatest builder of all time has spend his entire time in this stupid game working on this, what are the chances he'll even have that bomb, huh?" Lukas asked "I'm had enough crazy for one day..." Lukas muttered to himself and stormed away.
'What's his problem? He seems pretty upset... maybe he's allergic to wool " Petra said.
"Don't worry about him, he's just being a jerk..." I sighed. I then walked over to Petra as Olivia, Reuben, and Axel walked away,
"Hey, Petra," I greeted her, she was facing the opposite direction so she turned to face me "So on a scale from 'ugh' to 'argh' how bad are you feeling?" I asked her.
"Somewhere in between... but I'm holding on... for now" Petra replied, her face had turned completely gray and she looked extremely tired.
'How do you think Soren managed to get out of here without leaving any clues behind?" I asked her.
"He's the greatest builder of all time, if anybody knew how to put in the secret-est of secret doors, it's him" she rasped.
"So I'm probably looking for...?"
"Well to open a secret door... you need a secret mechanism" I nodded.
"Have you ever seen anything weirder than this place?" I asked.
"Actually... yeah," Petra said "I once saw a villager dig a huge trench and fill it with, like, a million carrots."
"I guess I'm gonna keep looking around" I told her.
"Look away" she nodded. I walked over a bridge that underneath had, surprisingly, actual water. I then walked over to Olivia and Axel.
"Thought you could trick me, huh, fake sun," Axel said to the glowstone sun towards the top of the room " Well, it's not gonna work." Axel then noticed me "Whats up, Jesse?" he asked.
"Either of you guys know what's eating Lukas?" I asked.
"Well, as a longtime observer of human behavior..." Axel began.
"We have no idea," Olivia burst in "Try, ya know, talking to him" Olivia said.
"I'm gonna keep poking around" I told them.
"Right" I walked away and noticed Lukas leaning against a 'tree' with his arms crossed. I walked over to him.
"What do you want?" Lukas sighed.
"Petra's worried about you" Lukas raised his eyebrows slightly.
"Listen I know I've been acting prickly, okay? But..." Lukas paused for a moment. "Jesse... I think... somethings wrong" Lukas looked up at me solemnly. "With Petra... you have to have noticed... the lack of energy... the labored breathing..."
"I-I wish I could tell you, but... I'm not supposed to talk about it..." I told him.
"Wait... talk about what?" Lukas asked "Jesse, if I'm right about this, you have to tell me, it's not fooling anybody... at least not me" I looked over at the sickened Petra across the room, I already felt regret for what I was to say next.
"Look Lukas... Petra's sick..." I sighed. His gray-blue eyes went wide and sorrow reflected in them.
"How long have you known?" he asked.
"A while... but she asked me not to say anything..." I told him "The Wither infected her with something."
"So everything I worried about... is true! This is my fault, Jesse!" Lukas exclaimed, almost in tears, he then sat down. "Petra's Wither Sickness... it's because of me..."
"So that's why you've been so angry? Because you feel guilty?" I asked.
"If I hadn't choked, you would have been able to pull Petra out of that tractor beam sooner..." Lukas said.
"For all we know, Petra didn't get sick until way after that" I told him.
"Maybe you're right..." Lukas said "If one of our best fighters is sick... do we even stand a chance anymore? Not like we haven't dealt with some grade-A problems before but..."
"If we stick together, we can do anything, even something that seems impossible" I told him.
"It just feels extra impossible now..." Lukas sighed.
"Then we stick together extra hard" I held out my hand and I pulled him up off the ground.
"Okay" he nodded. " I just wish Petra would tell everybody... it would have made things... easier" I then noticed a lever by Petra and I pulled it. I saw a part of a big light on the wall light up. I then walked over to the light and listened through the wall. I heard a soft and soothing jazz. I then spotted another lever and pulled it as well. Another section of the wall lit up. I looked up at Lukas and on the tree Lukas was leaning against, another lever. I began to get hope that maybe I had figured out this puzzle. He was blocking the Lever though
"Hey, Jesse" he greeted me.
"I, uh, kinda need to get to that lever you're blocking" I told Lukas, scratching the back of my head. He moved out of the way and I pulled the lever, the entire light was lit up, if my suspicions are correct, then I just needed to press a button that was near the light. I thanked Lukas and headed off to the button. I then watched a secret door open.
