Lyria POV
Who's she?
I frowned at her outburst and noticed that Aranda, Berlin and Inez were doing the same too.
That was really rude, going around shouting in people's faces like that! If it was me, I'll never accept her challenge but Berlin agreed calmly through her gritted teeth, leaving the red-head with a smug smile.
" Oh, the challenge would be after school on Monday. You may choose a partner to assist you with your rapping. All is invited to come watch. Watch me defeat you once and for all ! " Miss Rude red-head declared before sniggering away from the doorway.
I looked around and realised the class didn't take a liking to the red-head either but that was no surprise because of her attitude.
Some glared at her while others gossiped about her in their small groups, their eyes pointing sharply towards Miss Rude red-head. The pretty-boy gang looked irritated as they spoke to each other with much disdain, especially a boy with light brown hair.
" Why do you always accept her challenges, Berlin? She's trying her luck, don't you know... " Inez asked Berlin in annoyance as we settled down in a corner of the music room.
" I just like to see Verah fail miserably at the end of the day so it motivates me to work hard during the challenge. Wouldn't hurt in a bit of toying around with her, would it? " Berlin smiled as her eyes danced across the music room, finally landing on the red-head.
Verah... I'm not going to like her as much as I hate Ms Rodney.
So, when I thought about toying around with Verah's determination to beat Berlin, I smirked along with the girls.
But why did Verah want to 'defeat' her?
My face contorted in curiosity , earning a few questioning glances from Aranda.
" Is Verah a rival of Berlin or something? She seems so energetic when she proposed the challenge to Berlin..." I asked as I faced the girls in search of answers.
" You could say that. I bet she's jealous of Berlin's musical talents and wants to surpass her but in every challenge she proposes, she makes a clown out of herself," Inez laughed.
" She doesn't like us. Her sister doesn't too. It's Veron by the way. She's always flirting with Brcye. You could call them the annoying V sisters," Aranda stated matter-of-factly, rolling her eyes as she said that.
The music teacher came in and we started the lesson.
" Class, today we shall learn the basic chords of guitar like G, D, C and Em. Grab a guitar from that room over there. Guitars should be enough... " she pointed to a room with a light blue door with the word 'Instruments' across it.
All at once we rushed towards the room to grab our guitars.
I emerged with an aqua blue one while Berlin had black, Inez had maroon and Aranda had emerald.
Verah came out of the room with a scowl on her face for in her hand was a fusha pink guitar. She must hate fusha pink...
She got infuriated as she noticed that Berlin had taken black. Childishness oozed out of her as she stomped back to her seat.
The lesson was a breeze as we strummed the guitar according to the beat the music teacher had set on the phone. Some struggled to strum the guitar to the beat while others were finding the chords.
I would say that the girls and I did pretty well, especially Berlin for she could strum the guitar while muting it softly and plucking.
It sounded amazing, constrasting to Verah whose guitar strumming came out muffled and horrid.
