Giordana

Melbourne, June 25th 2015 (ROWYSO)

A few days later, we arrived back in Melbourne. This was the first time since I'd started going out with Luke I felt at home. I'd caught an earlier flight, just to not draw attention to me arriving with the guys, "Gia, welcome home," dad said when I arrived at the airport
"I'm only here for two days dad," I laughed
"I know, but we only see you once a week since you've moved out,"
"I know, just work and uni is tiring," I sighed, it was true, I had to get on top of all my assessments for uni just so I didn't have to deal with doing work while I was away over this mid year break.

Dad helped me with my bags and brought them to his car, "so are you staying at the apartment, or with the guys?" He asked
"I'm not sure," and that was the truth, Luke and I hadn't discussed whether or not we'd be staying at the hotel or at the apartment. It really just depended on whether or not Bridget was home or not. I guess it didn't really matter for two days. Bridget was my housemate, I didn't really get along with her too well. We had no similar interests, she was anti social and inconsiderate of me and my friends. Both Monti and Anna agreed
"You know both you're mother and I would be more comfortable with you staying at the apartment," he said. Even though I was now twenty, he was still wary about me staying with my boyfriend. Those weekends when I went up to Sydney over the Christmas period to see the guys, I lied and told them I was staying at Michael's. They were fine with that; even though they don't see him very often, they still thought of him as the son they never had. I'd only told them about Luke and I, when Luke made the surprise trip down to say goodbye to me, before he left for LA. I would have gone to Sydney to say goodbye, so he didn't risk getting seen here. We'd only been together at this point in time for just over a month; neither of us were ready to say anything about our relationship to the public.
He stayed at my apartment, and my parents decided to make a surprise visit over. Needless to say, they were shocked, when they knocked on the door, to see Luke open it, as I was in the shower. At least we weren't showering together, like the time Luke's mum came home early from an outing one time; that was quite possibly the most awkward moment of my life. It was awkward enough staying at his place with his parents there
"I know dad, but I hardly get to see Luke,"
"We understand sweetie, but you're still very young, and so is he; don't you think Liz would be more comfortable with you staying at the apartment; at least while you're in Melbourne," after my parents found out about Luke and I dating, I came clean and told them that I did stay at his place during the times I went to Sydney
"Liz doesn't mind, were technically both adults, and not to mention, I can't exactly have Luke come over, not if Bridget's there,"
"Giordana," he sighed, "when I said staying at the apartment, I meant that you'd be there and Luke would be at the hotel,"
"Dad, I don't get it; I'm staying in the hotel with Luke in every other city we visit, and I'll be staying there when I go to Sydney after this leg of the tour,"
"I understand, but when you're in Sydney after the tour, you'll be with his family, and I know you've had a separate hotel  room in the hotels,"
"Exactly! I have a separate hotel room to him, so what's the difference? He's booked the room, it's a waste of money if I stay at the apartment," obviously due to my family being Italian catholic's I didn't tell them Luke ended up staying in my hotel room,
"Dana, please, just make your mother and I more comfortable, at least while you're in Melbourne,"
"Fine," I sighed, "we all know it would be different if I was dating Michael,"
"No it wouldn't Giordana, this isn't the way we've raised you,"

Around half an hour later, we arrived at my apartment. I grabbed my phone out of my bag and messaged Luke.

To Luke: how do you feel about crashing at my apartment tonight and after the show tomorrow?

I knew if my dad found out about this he would have my head, but I didn't want to spend any unnecessary time away from my boyfriend. Some might say Luke and I were moving too fast. We'd told each other those three little words and eight letters, for the first time that weekend he surprised me in Melbourne; and we slept together for the first time, the same night that we first kissed. Not many people knew that though. He was still seventeen at that point, and I was already nineteen. I was extremely worried about what they would say.
