Dear (Y/N),
This is probably very sudden, and I should've told you earlier, but I'm admitting (s/n) into a hospital. He has been getting sicker and sicker, and I have to get him medical attention until it is too late. In two weeks time we'll be back. He will be fine. Don't worry about him. Stay out of trouble, you hear?
Sincerely,
Ms. Thomas

I smiled at the letter and put it down on my dresser. Alright, mom, I'll stay out of trouble. Good thing I read the letter now. I was just about to leave to see (s/n), but they aren't home.

I'm glad (s/n) is getting some medical attention, but I'm a little concerned. When I spent the day with him yesterday, he seemed perfectly fine.

I threw my cigarette butt on the ground. This new product Van gave me is really good. The taste of the tobacco is more present and sweeter. The alcohol is just a bit more stingier, but its fine.

I changed into my pajamas, which usually was just a shirt and underwear. I got into bed.

Thoughts started bouncing through my head. Why is Ms. Thomas suddenly taking (s/n) to the hospital? I mean she could've done it any time to get him help, but she is now suddenly doing it.

Could she be doing something that is hurting my child? Surely she wouldn't, but he seemed perfectly normal to me. He is skinny, but that is just a side effect of his sickness. Other than that he is fine. What if she is doing something to him?

I took a deep breath and shook my head.

"(s/n) is fine. Why are you worrying?"

I laid down comfortably on my bed. I'm going to try to sleep without worrying about (s/n). I trust Ms. Thomas. She wouldn't do anything to hurt my son. She loves him just as much as I do.

Or at least, I hope she loves him just as much as I do.

"Sit still, you little shit!" Floyd yelled. He smacked the little boy in the face to make him stay in the hospital bed. "Hurry up and get the serum."

"Alright." Ms. Thomas said. She grabbed the needle from the tray. She gave it to Floyd and he extended (s/n)'s arm.

The little boy started weeping. He never liked it at the hospital. He started to squirm around and cry harder. Floyd got even more irritated and hit (s/n) again.

"Father, please! I don't want this! I-I..." (s/n) cried.

"I what?" Floyd growled.

"I want my mom!"

Floyd rolled his eyes and brought the needle.

"She won't come save you this time. She doesn't care about lousy kids like you. No one does."

(s/n) held his tongue. He didn't believe Floyd because he knew that his mother loved him.

Floyd forcefully put the needle in the boy's arm and injected the serum. (s/n) closed his eyes and let the tears run down his cheeks.
