I wiped off the old, dusty dress I would always wear back in my past. After being locked away for a few years, it finally making an appearance once again. I attempted to wipe off as much dust as possible, and I tried to sew in as many holes as possible. The old dress is at it's end.
The sun was still rising, and I put as many cigarette packages in my suitcase. Bringing clothes or certain things will be useless, for Floyd will already have some sort of attire for me to wear. My uniform was folded neatly on my window sill. Maybe when I come back it'll be there.
The door to my room opened, and I turned around to greet them.
"Good morning, Levi." I said.
He walked into the room and came to me. He grabbed my hand and placed something in it.
"This is for you." he said.
I looked down and saw a piece of paper. I tried to open it, but Levi stopped me.
"Don't open it yet. I want you to read it only when you really need me and I'm not there for you."
I smiled and closed my hand. I placed the note in my pocket, then looked back at Levi.
"Thank you," I said before my eyes started to water.
I sighed heavily, then I heard the sound of Floyd's carriage come near the headquarters. The tears ran down my cheeks to under my chin. I could feel the emotions of fear and sadness once again. Levi held my hands and pulled me close to him.
"(Y/N)," he said softly. "Whatever happens, just know I will always love you. It doesn't matter if you are married to that old bastard," Levi grazed the ring on my finger. "I will always be the one that will truly love you." He placed his hand on my cheek. "If you do come back in two years, I will be here. Don't you think I won't."
"Levi, I..." I stared into his cold grey eyes, and I gave him a sad smile. "I'm going to miss you."
Levi placed his lips against mine. Our tongues met for the last time, and he made sure that every part of my mouth was explored. Our kiss was so passionate, and this truly felt like real love. If only time was in our favor.
I pulled back and buried my head into his shoulder. He hugged me tightly. I heard my door open once more.
"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting," I pulled away from Levi. He glared at Floyd, and I finished zipping up my suitcase. "But it's time to leave, (Y/N)."
I nodded at Floyd then looked back at Levi.
"I guess this is goodbye, Levi." I said.
I picked up my suitcase and continued to leave the room. I smiled at Levi.
"Don't forget to clean my wardrobe for me. I left some things that will need to be thrown away." I winked at Levi, then walked away.
I went to Floyd and he put his arm around me. His guard took my suitcase and carried it for me. We left the building, and outside there was his carriage and his guards made up of military police.
One guard opened the door and I walked in. I sat by the window, and Floyd sat right next to me. I looked out and saw everyone waving goodbye. I waved back and gave them a smile that assured them that I will be alright.
All my friends, comrades, and loyal companions had faces full of sadness. I never fully appreciated their presence, but now that I'm about to leave them I feel guilty. I should've been a better friend.
I saw Levi walk out of the building. We met eyes, and he had a note in his hands. So he did go into my wardrobe like I told him. I smiled at him. I felt the carriage start to move.
It went away, and everyone's faces disappeared. All I was left with was Floyd. I felt his hand grab mine.
"Lets talk about us, shall we?" he asked.
I squeezed his hand tighter.
"Sure. Anything to end the silence." I said.
"That's great, dear, it really is. Now lets talk about our vow renewal. I know we haven't been fully faithful over the past few years, and this will help us rebuild our relationship."
"Is that so? Will it be in a church, or a small courthouse, or what?"
Floyd chuckled lightly.
"It is being held at home, my dear."
I frowned and looked over at Floyd with confusion.
"We are renewing our vows at that creaky house? Floyd, you're mad."
"No, dear. I do not live in that garbage anymore. I've gotten richer and more powerful to the point where the king requests my presence."
"Did the business get that big?"
"Yes, ma'am, it did."
"How? It was just a small bar outside of town, similar to Van's."
"And now I'm rich because of it. Isn't that amazing?"
"Yes, it is amazing."
"We can be happy now without the worry of kids or work. We can now just be happy for us."
I nodded slowly.
"Yeah, that sounds alright...its all about our happiness."
