~(S/N) P.O.V~

For almost all of my life, I've lived here in the underground. My adoptive parents died about two years ago, and since then I've been barely surviving under here. The underground is horrible. You can never see the sun, the smell is horrendous, everything is always dirty, and death is just around the corner if you make the wrong decision.

Its great, isn't it?

Everyday has been a struggle to stay alive, and my wish is to go back to the surface and find my mom. I know she is up there. For all of my life down here, all I wanted to do was to tell her that I love her.

I miss her. I miss the warm hugs and soft kisses on my forehead. I miss her sweet voice saying "Goodnight".

What I miss the most is her glowing face. She was always so beautiful, and it was always sad to see her go. My mother is the only person in the world that will make me happy. She told me once that I was her favorite person, and I've always believed that.

I will always be her favorite, and she will always be my favorite as well.

The line of men were going up slowly, and the only reason why I'm in line was because I'm curious about what this is. I heard there was a free way to the surface if we get in this line. There was a job for a guard I guess?

People say it's dangerous job, but it can't be that bad. I doubt being some old, rich guy's guard will be that hard. I've also heard people say that these old geezers have hot wives that like to hit on guards, so maybe this job will be a win-win for me.

Before I knew it, it was my turn. I saw a man in a black suit. He looked a bit stressed out. I walked up to the table where the man was and stood there a bit awkwardly.

"If you're an old man trying to get to the surface, then fuck off." he said without looking up from the paper.

"I'm not an old man, and I'm not here just to get to the surface," I said.

The man looked up at me.

"I've come here because I heard there was a job to protect some lady. It sounds like something I'd like to do." I said.

"Alright, so tell me why I should give you this job." he asked.

"I just simply want to help. Isn't that enough to say?"

The man smirked at me and stood up. He waved his hand, and the Military Police that were around him started to make the other men in line go away.

"I like your generosity, boy. You'll do great in training." he said with his raspy voice. "Mrs. Floyd will straighten you up nice and good."

I raised an eyebrow and nodded. That was easy. All I had to do was stand there, say what I had to say, then be accepted. This job sounds easier every minute I think about it.

"My name is Gregori Floyd. My brother, Derek is in a bit of a sticky situation you see," the man started. "He has these assassins after him, and they are aiming for his wife. Its your job now to protect them after this small training we're going to give you."
I nodded.

"Sounds easy enough. What are these assassins like?" I asked.

"Ruthless and barbaric. They have no mercy."

"Ooo sounds scary."

"Do not take my words lightly. They are dangerous and can kill you. They murdered sixteen guards in less than two minutes."

"Alright then, Mr. Floyd, then I'll take your words seriously."

"Good."

Mr. Floyd and I entered the stairway to the surface. It was this easy to get here? Wasn't there more men? Thoughts bounced through my head to the point where I didn't notice that I was going to the outside.
