Brianna's PoV:
It's been 3 days since Marabelle had to leave to talk to the King. Usually, I see her walking around the academy grounds, but now she's barely around. I decide to talk to Evan about it and soon, I am at the doorway of the Royal Suites.
"Come in," a voice booms when I knock. I open the door a tiny bit to see who answered. The King glares down at me, his mouth in a straight line. "U-uh, h-h-hi," I try to pass him, but he blocks my path. "Where do you think you're going," he raises an eyebrow. "I just wanted to talk to Evan," I explain. "That's his Royal Highness to you. You don't have the authority to just call him by his name," he snaps. I blush but keep on talking, "He said that I have permission to call him that," I stumble backwards. "How do I know that?!" he places his hands firmly on his hips. "I can repeat it if you want, father," a manly voice says behind me.
I spin around and come face-to-face with the prince. "Son," the King nods. Evan ignores him and leans in toward me. "Did he hurt you, darling?" he asks, gently stroking my cheek. I shake my head "no" and he looks relieved. "If he did anything to you-" he begins to worry, but I cut him off. "But he didn't. I'm fine, Evan," I reassure him. He smiles and loops his arm through mine. "We shall be leaving, father," he says, and together, we leave the suites.
"I suspect that you didn't go to the suites because you wanted to talk to the King," he laughs. "Obviously not. I wanted to talk to you," I admit. "Oh? What did you do? Usually nothing good ever comes out of your mouth when you need me," he wiggles his eyebrows. I lightly shove him in the shoulder, and he pretends to be in shock. "You want to play that game?" he challenges. I realize my mistake, and make a quick getaway to the balcony. He chases me, and I end up in his arms. "You lost, so you have to do what I say," he grins mischievously. "Oh no," I laugh sarcastically. "Kiss me," he demands, and I giggle. "Of course, should've known," I straighten so that I'm closer to his face. He brushes a strand of my chocolate brown hair away and I plant a kiss on his lips. He grabs me by the waist and soon I'm lying next to him, his hands raking through my hair.
"I love you," he says while kissing me passionately on my neck. "I love you too," I admit, and embrace him tightly.
