Brianna's PoV
I had fallen asleep last night to a silent Aurelie. She hadn't said a word to me since yesterday's "incident." I felt a warm light bathe me in my bed, and I mumbled, "Turn it OFF,"
"You have to wake up! It's a Saturday!" I hear Aur scream. "Uggghhhhhhh, why!!!?" I mumble, slamming my pillow over my head. "Cause today is the first royalty lesson!" she exclaims, throwing my sheets off my bed. "Great," I think.
I put on one of the gowns that the school provides, and quickly put my hair into a french braid. Aurelie is wearing a midnight blue gown with a silver sash and silver, sheer ruffles on the bottom and sleeves. She looks stunning. I go over to her, wanting to apologize if I had offended her yesterday. Instead, she apologizes. "I'm sorry for snapping at you... I shouldn't have," she looks down at her shoes. "It's fine, you must've been under a lot of stress," I reassure her. She smiles and hugs me. "Friends?"
"Friends."
I prepared myself for an hour of pure torture. Strange high heels? Check. Annoying corset? Check. Way-too-long dress? CHECK. I grab a purse and sling it over my shoulder. I rush over to the auditorium and see the prince. He strides over to me, a grin playing on his face. "Hello, my lady," he smirks playfully, kissing me on the cheek. I blush, and I think he notices, for he raises an eyebrow. He loops his arm through mine, and we walk over to the stage. "You ready?" he asks. "For the worst moment of my life? Then, yes," I joke. "It's easy. Just balance a few books on your head for 15 minutes while walking around."
"Yeah, cause that's SOOO easy," I roll my eyes. He laughs and kisses my hand before leaving. I walk up to the stage, and immediately notice Marabelle. She obviously had issues this morning. First off, she put on WAAYYY too much foundation and bronzer to where her skin looks practically orange. Second, she had bright red lipstick that made her lips look like they were on fire. She flipped her hair when she saw me, and mouthed, "Loser."
I tried to ignore it, and walk up to the teacher. She has platinum blonde hair and fair skin. She has a winged eyeliner and nude lipstick on. When she sees me, she walks over and places 3 dictionaries in my hand. "Umm, what am I supposed to do with these?" I ask. "Balance, duh!"
I put the books on my head, and I notice Evan staring at me. He smirks, and I stick my tongue out at him. Right when I do, the books slide off my head. He bursts out laughing, trying to contain himself when his parents stare. He walks over and helps me pick up the books. When we start to stand up, he bends in and kisses me. I stumble backwards, shocked, and his arm, once again, catches me. He places his lips against mine and runs his hand through my hair. I'm too startled to kiss him back, so instead I put my arm around his neck and whisper in his ear, "I love you."
He grins and whispers back, "So, you made up your mind."
"I believe I have, your Royal Highness," I emphasize the last words and he chuckles in response. "There's other girls watching, you do realize," I glance at Marabelle, who is currently giving me a death glare. "I know, I want everyone to know that we like each other," he smiles and kisses me once more. He looks at me in the eye, and cups his hand on my face. "I think we're more than just friends now, right?"
"I think so," I laugh, and hug him. "I hate to leave so suddenly, but I must join my parents," he apologizes. As soon as he leaves and I'm out of his sight, Marabelle comes up to me, steam practically coming out of her ears. "You! I HATE YOU!!! You can't just go up and KISS FREAKING PRINCE!!!!" she screams in my face. "SHUT UP! YOU IN PARTICULAR SHOULDN'T BE SAYING THINGS CAUSE FROM WHAT I SAW, YOU WERE MAKING OUT WITH THE PRINCE!" I yell. Soon it escalates, and before I know it, something extreme happens. It seemed to happen in slow motion... first her hand clenching into balls, then her hand whipping out... and finally... her fist meeting my face.
Suddenly, my world goes black.
