A month has passed since my sister's death. I've been wearing black and grays ever since the funeral. Aurelie and Evan are trying to convince me to wear some color, but I refuse. However, today I must wear something bright because the royal family is hosting a spring picnic outside in the Silvercrest gardens.

I decide to go with a light pink dress that is a high-low gown. A thin, silver belt is around my waist, and matching high-heels with a crystal pendant adorn my feet. A put in a silver bow in my hair, and take a deep breath. I swivel and turn to see myself in the mirror. "Too colorful,"  I complain, already used to wearing black. I walk out the door to meet all of my friends.

"Darling, you've arrived," Evan stands up to greet me. He lightly kisses my cheek and hugs me. I sit down to see Marabelle sipping tea. She gives me a look, but then ignores me. I talk to Aurelie and Krista, and then the queen makes an announcement. "Today we are eliminating 3 girls, just to make it easier for my son."

I cringe, and face Evan for clarification. He nods, and then winks. He mouths, "See you in your dorm?" I grin, and shake my head, "yes."

Marabelle watches us closely, looking for any signs. As I stand up to dismiss myself, she sticks her foot out. I trip, and fall, waiting for the ground to hit me. But it never comes. An arm wraps itself securely around my waist, and pulls me to my feet. I turn around to see who it is... however I already have a vague idea. "Evan... please don't tell me that's you," I smirk. "But then I would be lying, darling."

"Oh, shut up," I laugh. He chuckles, and spins me around to face him. "Saved by your handsome prince once again," he smiles. I shake my head and roll my eyes.

After the picnic, I stayed in bed trying to memorize which spoons to use for which meals. "So confusing," I mumble. I hear a soft knocking and open the door. "Hello?" I ask, tired. "Hello, darling? You sound tired... is everything okay?" Evan asks, stepping inside. "No... I HATE memorizing spoons... it's stupid," I whine."You'll live," Evan laughs, and picks me up. "Let me down!!!" I scream, kicking and squirming in his arms. "Never!" he chucks me onto the bed, and lies down next to me. I cuddle into him, and he strokes my hair.

"I love you," he whispers, holding me close to him. "I love you too, my Royal Handsomeness," I whisper back, wrapping my hands around his neck. He pulls away for a moment, his eyes wandering across my face. "What did you just call me?" he raises an eyebrow. "Um... I called you Your Royal Highness," I stutter, blushing profusely. "Oh, I don't think you said that," he grins. "Okay... I might have said your Royal Handsomeness," I say super quietly, so that he won't hear me. "What?" he asks, wiggling his eyebrows. "I said your Royal Handsomeness!!!," I scream, "There... are you happy now?!!" I squeal when he pulls me in close to his chest. "Yes... very happy," he breathes into my ear. I'm soon kissing him passionately. Again and again, our lips meet. Our eyes close, and we cherish the moment.

I soon feel his fingers playing with the back of my dress. I stop breathing for a moment. "No, stop," I shy away. "What?" he questions. "We can't do this, not when there's other girls here," I explain. "But one day, it will just be us," he says, kissing me. "Oh, really?" I wiggle my eyebrows, and giggle. He nods and stands up.

"See you tomorrow?" he asks, tucking me into bed, bending down to place a kiss on my forehead.

"See you tomorrow," I respond, closing my eyes and slowly drifting to sleep.
