Evan's PoV:
I am so angry at Marabelle. I have tried to give her many chances, but she just refuses. Yesterday, she had decided to steal attention, once again, from Laurenna's birthday party in the ballroom. I don't know how she became eligible to come, cause the royal adviser makes sure everyone that attends Silvercrest is a properly-educated young lady.
My father has decided that I need to come to his study today at half past noon. I look up at the clock and see the time. 11:30, it reads. Great, I have an hour. What to do... oh! I quickly look in the mirror to make sure I'm presentable, and slide on some shoes. I head out the door and walk over to the ladies' dorms. As I pass by the men's dorms, I hear a noise.
"Smmffph," a sound makes... and then I hear the same sound again, but more manly. I choose not to reveal myself, and I hide behind a wall. That's when I see something unimaginable... Marabelle kissing one of the suitors. I don't recognize him, so I'll have to ask my sister about it. But, of course, I immediately recognize Mara. Her long hair swishes back and forth, and the guy is pinning her to his chest. I decided not to point them out, and instead, I continue going to the girls' dorms.
I knock lightly on the oak door, waiting for a familiar voice to ask who it is. Nobody answers, so I make it my business to go see what going on. I open the door, and peek inside. No one. I look around, and I quickly realize which side is Bree's and which side is Aurelie's. Pictures of glass slippers from the movie, Cinderella, are located on the wall above a black and white bed. A picture of a tall girl wearing a one-piece swimsuit is on the other wall, as well as other pictures of famous women. I make a note in my head to ask Brianna about who the girl with the swimsuit is.
I sit down on the bed, not bothering to close the door. I lie down and put my face on the pillow. I take a deep breath and Brianna's scent wafts up my nose. It smells like roses and mint. That's when footsteps trail into the room.
"What are you doing here!!?!" Brianna practically screams, shocked by my presence. "I decided to visit," I reply, standing up to greet her. "Ohhh... so that's how it is... you just simply can't go through a full day without seeing me, huh?" she laughed, and hugged me. I wrapped my arm around her, and we stared into each others' eyes. It soon became awkward, and I could tell because Bree's cheeks were slowly turning into a strawberry color. "That's correct," I grinned, and wiggled my eyebrows. She bursts out laughing, clutching her stomach to keep herself from falling over.
"I hate to be a party pooper... but I have to see my dad," I apologize, heading for the door. "But you just got here!" Bree whines, while making a sad puppy dog face. "I'm sorry," I say sincerely. She nods, but I can see her disappointment. So, she finally likes me... or at least I think she does. I take hold of her hands, and look her in the eye. "I'll see you tomorrow," I promise. She smiles, and her eyes light up with hope. With that, I depart.
I enter my suite, and prepare myself for the meeting. As I past the library, one of the maids stops me. "I'm sorry, Your Highness, but your father is getting extremely impatient, so I suggest you hurry."
I nod, and proceed to the study, walking as fast as possible. Right as I walk through the door, my father stands up from his chair and his eyebrows knit together. "Why are you so LATE!!!" he bellows, almost making the room vibrate. "I-I'm sorry, father, but I was talking to one of the ladies."
"Sure, let me guess, it was whats-her-name... Liana?"
"Um, no... Brianna."
"That's what I said!!!"
I knew better than to argue, so I kept my mouth sealed. "Anyway... I needed to talk to you about that girl, Marabelle," he says. "Yes... I was hoping if I could disqualify her... after all, she has many reasons to be eliminated," I answer. "You may not do that, son," my father informs. "But she was making out with one of the suitors today! I just saw her when I was walking over to the dorms!" I protest. "Do you have proof?! How do I know that you're not just lying! How do I know that you're just doing this so that you can marry Brianna!" he yells. "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST TRUST ME!!!" I holler back. He snaps his mouth shut. I usually never stand up to myself, but when I did just now, he seems so taken aback. He opens his mouth again to speak, "This meddlesome girl is messing with your brain, Evan! Can't you see! She just wants the crown!"
"And how do you know that! You've never even given her the chance to speak!"
"Fine. We will assign a date for us to bring the ladies on the set of the R.B.News. We'll see how well she handles public speaking," my father compromises. "Fine," I huff. I watch my dad settle down and he speaks once more, "The reason why we can't eliminate Marabelle is because many people out in the normal world see her as a kind person based on magazine stories. I can't eliminate her and tell the entire world that she just 'made out' with people. If you think of an excuse to tell the public... then we can eventually eliminate her."
I think for a moment, trying to brainstorm. "We can say that she swallowed the lemonade to fast, and spit it out on reflex," I finally conclude. He nods and approves, so I go over to my sister's suite.
"May I come in?" I ask. "Sure... why not," she answer, sounding quite bored. I go into her room, and sit down on the bed. "I saw one of your suitors," I say, trying not to spill what I actually saw. "So? What... are you stalking them or something?" she rolls her eyes. "No, but I saw enough to where I can tell you that he was making out with someone besides you," I reply, making sure I sound serious. "WHAT?!" she screams. I cover my ears and continue, "I saw him and I didn't know which one he was. So I came here to ask you. He had shaggy blond hair and gray-blue eyes. I couldn't get close enough to see any details, so..." I describe the man to her. "That's Sir Blake Michelson," she answers, fury building up inside of her. "I'm going to talk to father," she storms out the room.
"Good luck with that," I mumble under my breath.
