This chapter is from Rakim or Rocky's Point of View (POV)

Aunty and I were stressing. She was a hot mess, every five minutes she would break down in tears. I tried writing a couple of songs but I couldn't stop thinking about what this family has been through.
Aunty has been in her room all day. She's got a month off from work because of our family emergency. She's packing her stuff, It hurts me when a female close to me cries. It makes me feel like its my fault and I know its not but I cant help it.

I sat in my sisters room listening to Mick Jenkins- Healer.

My piss ain't never been so clear, my pockets never been so empty

My heart ain't never been this full, but my stomach is not so my nigga don't tempt me

I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I'm tired, I'm smoking, it often seems

It's like everyone is only lost in dreams

Its like history repeats itself in this family. I cant remember the last time we sat together as a family. Wait, I actually can, it was a couple summers ago when we were planning to go to Disney World. We never did go though because of financial problems, my sis was pretty sad about it but we ended up going to Myrtle Beach. It was awesome there, I remember my mom's genuine smile and my sisters laughter. Its like everything went straight to hell in five years, I don't like being alone but not being connected to my sister was like being in a hole, she's my life right now. I don't want to leave her, she's the closest thing I have to home and genuine happiness. She is the air I breathe.

Hearing my aunties soft cries in the next room is tearing me apart slowly. every teardrop being a piece of my heart.

Drop, Shatter, Drop, Shatter. Crack.

I turned my music off and just listened to the city, hearing the city brought a calm cover over me.

I remember seeing a therapist because of what happened when I was 17.

* Flashback*

"1...2...3...open your eyes." She said "Rakim...Mr. Mayers, you can get up now."

I awoke and she asked me some questions

"What did you see?"

"I saw my family getting together for Christmas, my mom got some make-up along with clothes, My dad got a new camera and my sister got a..."

"Its alright...take your time."

"I think she got a...a dollhouse."

"Ok. What did you get."

"Some shoes."

"Do you know what brand?"

"I got some Jordan's. Retro's." I said while trying my hardest to remember.

"Nice. Was anyone else in the house other than family and friends?"

"There was some man in my room sitting in the corner crying. He had braids like me, I asked hims what his problem was and he said his Mom is in the hospital because she fell down the stairs and his dad punched her. He was a mess. I ain't never seen a dude cry like him."

"Did he tell you anything else?"

"Yeah. He said he doesn't want his sister to be mad at him because he couldn't save their family. He said that he tried really hard." I shook my head "I don't understand where this is coming from."

"Explained how he looked."

"He looked like an older version of me. He had to be me!"

"Thank you Rakim. That's it for today."
