Chapter 41: Eclipse

Melody's P.O.V

One week has passed since I made my Adrenaline Art Knife sketch. My outfit was ready and I was officially wearing it. I had secretly made my own fake enemy. I tied up a pillow around a leather chair would practice my fighting skills. I would always hide my chair when I hear "mom" or "dad" coming.

The time has come for me to finally get out of this strange place and go back home. I was ready to be called a hero. They still didn't allow me to open window or doors that lead outside; My guess, is that opening windows would not be dangerous. I made my way downstairs and see Mom serving a plate of food for Dad who is sitting on the dinning table with a knife and fork ready. Mom sees me come down and smiles.

Emelia: "Hi Melanie! Dinner is ready, Wash your hands and get settled."

I roll up my sleeves and obey her orders but once I did, I felt my father's eyes on me. I felt confident about my plan and tried pretending to be fine.

Gerard: "What's going on with you, Melanie?"

Melody: "Nothing Dad, why?"

I said and took a seat besides him. Mom had placed a plate in front of me and started serving me food that looked like God knows what. I picked up my fork and began eating as I waited for dad's reply.

Gerard:"Never mind. So you're wearing your costume."

Melody: "yea, I am."

He complimented my outfit and the rest of the time we were here, it was silent. I was waiting for the right time but it almost seemed impossible. I stood up and grabbed my plate as I made my way to the sink. I took a deep breath and placed my dirty dish in the sink and without thinking, I opened the window. Everything went wild, It didn't look normal outside, It looked like we were in a tornado even though you felt no movement. A huge wave of wind entered as Mom and Dad screamed in pain. I looked into their eyes and they turn yellow. I gasp and make a run for it. I looked back and saw that they started to get rashes on their skin but that stopped when Gerard stood up and closed the window.

Gerard: "get over here!"

He said to me in a demonic voice. He tried walking but barely made it from the pain that the wind caused him. The door was next to me and i opened it without thinking. Him and Emelia shouted in pain until the burst into flames. The house started burning from their flames and I had no idea what to do. I stood in the doorway and looked down below, I was high up but I realized I had to jump if I wanted to stay alive.

I took a deep breathe and closed my eyes counting down. My plan was to jump at the count of three but I didn't even get to number 2 when the roof of the house collapsed and hit my head. I felt myself fall down but everything went black.

Emelia's P.O.V

Melody has been sleeping for days and we have no idea why. When we first woke up, she was cuddled up next to Black heart and her lips were turning purple. Ever since that day nothing has bothered us but we did worry so much about Melody. I look over to Black heart who has been sitting next to Melody for days. He cares for her and I'd take that any day instead of having him filled with rage when he saw her.

I took a seat beside him and thought of what to say.

Emelia: "She'll be okay."

Black-heart: "How do you know that? We don't even know why this happened."

Emelia: "I just know it. I will never let my only daughter die from nothing."

Black-heart: "We can't let her get away with this"

I took a look at him with a confused face and wondered what he was trying to say

Emelia: "what are you talking about?"

Black-heart: "She has to pay for what she's done to us and melody! I have to be the one to kill her, I'm the only one who knows how."

Emelia: "Of course were going to end her but we need to find out what's wrong with melody."

Black-heart: "What if we can't? What if melody has a sleeping curse, the only way to break it is by killing Linda."

Emelia: "You don't know that."

I said trying to make him calm down but clearly, it didn't.

Black-heart: "Listen, unless your name is Google, stop acting like you know everything."

Emelia: "I could say the same to you."

Black-heart: "I've known Linda for more years than all of you. I'm pretty sure I can handle it."

He says and walks away. I closed my eyes and rubbed my forehead.

Cece: "Emelia."

I turn around and find her smiling at Melody who was waking up.
