Chapter 16

(Your PoV)
~Dream Land~

'Where am I?'

I looked around and saw that I was standing near by a tree on top of a hill. It was looking down on a town.

It seemed familiar..

"Elemental Dragon Roar!" I heard a young and familiar voice yell.

'Wait a minute.. That's me!'

In the middle of the town stood Team Natsu and 10 year old me.

We were fighting a group of robbers who knew magic.

'I remember this.. It was one of the past few jobs I went on with Team Natsu before they left for Tenrou Island.'

I sat down in front of the tree and decided to watch.

"Rock Wave!" 10 year old me yelled. My attack hit a few of the robbers, sending them flying.

"Yay! And you said that I couldn't do anything!" I yelled happily.

'That's right.. I still smiled back then..'

"Good job Melo. Keep doing that." Gray encouraged as he hit a guy.

I nodded and got in a stance, "Ice Make: Ice Dragon!"

My eyes widened with realization, 'I forgot that I can use Ice Make magic.. Gray-kun taught me it..'

'It took me a few months but I learned. Gray-kun took me up to some mountains and I had to train in nothing but my underwear and training bra.'

I sighed remembering the months and paid attention to 10 year old me.

"What the hell?! That girl just made a dragon out of ice!" One guy yelled in fear.

Just then, my dragon shattered.

'Gosh. I forgot about this part.'

"What just happened?!" I exclaimed as I frowned.

"Tch. You're all pathetic. Scared of a little girls magic." The leader said.

The leaders hand then got covered in lightning.

"Woah.." I said.

"He uses lightning magic?!" Natsu exclaimed.

"Focus! There's still more men!" Erza yelled as she blocked an attack.

"Right!" Team Natsu and I yelled.

"Gray, take care of the leader!" Erza commanded.

Gray nodded and got into a stance, "Melo, stay back."

"What?! Why?! I want to help you!" I exclaimed.

"No. Stay back. It's too dangerous." Gray said sternly.

"But-"

"No (Y/N)! Just stay back!" Gray said sternly. I flinched and nodded as I stepped back.

I watched as Gray-kun fought the leader.

After a few minutes, I noticed that Gray-kun was getting tired, but so was the leader.

"Gah!" Gray yelled out as he fell onto the ground.

"Gray-kun!" I yelled with wide eyes.

Gray groaned as he tried to get up, but failed.

"Time to finish this." I heard the leader say.

I looked at him and saw that his whole arm was covered in lightning.

"He's going to attack.." I whispered.

"Lightning Beam!" He yelled.

A beam of lightning was headed straight for Gray.

"No!" I yelled. I quickly jumped in front of Gray-kun, taking the hit instead.

"(Y/N)!" Gray-kun yelled.

I screamed loudly making everyone stop fighting and cover the ears. My scream surprisingly knocked out the rest of the robbers, but fortunately not Team Natsu.

"(Y/N)!" They all yelled.

I then fell onto the ground, battered and bruised. Before I fell unconscious, I whispered one thing,

"Gray-kun.."

(Still Your PoV)

'Ow.. Why am I so sore? I feel so weak..'

I slowly opened my eyes, taking in my surroundings.

I was in the guild infirmary.

I felt something cold on my right side. I looked and saw Gray-kun asleep.

'Why is he here?'

I sat up and stroked his hair.

I felt and saw him stir. His eyes slowly opened and he looked up at me.

He immediately sat up and looked relieved. "You.. You made it.." Gray said as he smiled.

"You made it.. You're alive.." He said as his hair covered his eyes.

He grabbed my right hand and bent over in his chair.

I then felt something wet fall onto my hand.

'Gray-kun.. Is crying?'
