Chapter 20

(3rd PoV)
"What do you mean that we're the weakest guild in Fiore?!" Natsu exclaimed.

"Supposedly, Fairy Tail is the weakest guild in Fiore. The Grand Magic Games shows that." (Y/N) said.

"What's the Grand Magic Games?" Gray asked.

"The Grand Magic Games are a series of competitions that are held each year. They are held at the center of Fiore, in the royal kingdom. Every guild in Fiore competes against each other to see which guild is better." Romeo explained.

"Who holds the strongest guild title?" Lucy asked.

"Sabertooth. It's a guild that became big after you all disappeared." Macao said.

"Well we can't let that happen again this year." Master Makarov said with a smile.

"What are you talking about Gramps?" Gray asked.

"It means that Fairy Tail is competing in the Grand Magic Games!"

'He can't be serious.'

"Master Makarov, we can't possibly win in the condition we're in right now." I said sternly.

"What do you mean?" Lucy asked.

"Everyone here and every guild in Fiore has an advantage over you guys. You were all gone for 7 years. During those 7 years, we've all been training. You guys haven't." I said as I crossed my arms.

"Are you calling us weak?!" Natsu exclaimed.

I shrugged, "You said it. Not me."

Just as Natsu was about to hit me, Gray stopped him.

"She means that everyone else has gotten stronger since they were actually able to train. We couldn't since of that damn dragon made up disappear for 7 years." Gray said as he looked at me.

"(Y/N)'s right. We have to go train." Erza stated.

"The Grand Magic Games are in 3 months. You have plenty of time to train." Macao said.

"We'll start right away then." Erza said.

"Split into groups and go train somewhere for the 3 months. Come back a day before. I need to pick out the team that will be competing for Fairy Tail." Master Makarov said.

Everyone nodded and went into certain groups. Team Natsu and I all looked at each other and nodded.

"Let's go train."

(3rd PoV, 3 months later)
"We were gone for 3 months?!" Natsu exclaimed.

Jet and Droy nodded.

"Now there's only 2 days left to train until we return back to the guild." Droy said as he bit into a turkey leg.

Just then, a dark aura surrounded Erza.

"Be prepared to face hell during these two days.." Erza said darkly.

Everyone gulped, even (Y/N).

"We're gonna die.."

"The people that will be competing in the Grand Magic Games for Fairy Tail will be Natsu, Gray, Erza, Lucy, Wendy, and Elfman." Master Makarov announced.

Everyone cheered except (Y/N).

(Y/N) frowned then returned to her normal stoic face.

'I can't believe that Master Makarov didn't put me on the team. I already know how he chose for the other Fairy Tail team and I'm still not on it.

I was really looking forward to competing and actually winning this year..' (Y/N) thought as she looked at the ground.

"Hey Gramps, why didn't you put (Y/N) on the team?" Gray asked after glancing at (Y/N).

"Yeah Gramps. (Y/N) deserves to be on the team!" Natsu said.

Everyone else agreed.

"I would have put her on the team but, I decided that since (Y/N) has already competed in the Grand Magic Games, I let all of you compete this time. This will be your first time and I wanted the team to be people from the Tenrou team." Makarov said.

"What?! But (Y/N) deserves to be on this team!" Natsu retorted.

"Gramps, she's one of the strongest wizards here. She's the reason we still have a guild and a guild hall." Gray said.

"I've already decided. I am not changing my mind." Makarov said.

"But-"

"Guys cut it out." (Y/N) said sternly as she looked away from the ground, but looked off.

"Master Makarov's right. You guys should be the ones competing this year." She said as she walked towards the guild doors with a shadow cast over her eyes.

Just as (Y/N) was about to leave, she paused.

"Win this year for Fairy Tail."
