"She's bummed out."

"What?" Lucy asked.

"(Y/N)'s bummed out about not being able to compete in the Grand Magic Games." Gray said as he sighed.

"How can you tell, Gray-san?" Wendy asked.

"She seemed fine or normal when she left." Erza said.

"I know how (Y/N) is. I can tell that she was bummed out." Gray said as he looked at Team Natsu.

"I can't blame her. I know this is our first time competing in this, but it sounds like a lot of fun." Natsu said as he crossed him arms.

"Well after (Y/N) left, Master Makarov did say that she would be a substitute in case someone got badly injured or sick during the games." Erza said.

Team Natsu all nodded.

"Yeah, but that also means that one of our teammates would be badly injured if (Y/N) steps in." Lucy said.

"Maybe one of us can pretend to be injured so (Y/N)-san can compete in at least one event." Wendy suggested.

"Wendy's right." Gray said.

"But who would do that?" Natsu asked.

They all shrugged, except Wendy.

"I can do it. I don't mind." She said.

"Absolutely not!" Carla exclaimed.

 "Why not Carla?" Happy asked.

"Wendy should compete to improve her magic. I'm sorry but I forbid her to pretend to be injured." Carla said sternly.

"But-"

"I'm sorry but I've already made my choice." Carla said.

Everyone groaned, "Fine."

"I guess there's nothing to do for (Y/N)." Lucy said.

"Let's go pack our stuff for tomorrow. We leave in the early morning and it takes the whole day to get to Crocus, the capital of Fiore." Erza said as they all stood up.

"I'll go tell (Y/N) about her being the substitute." Gray said as he and everyone left to go pack.

'This sucks. I really wanted to compete with Gray-kun and Team Natsu.'

I was currently laying down on the living room couch, with an arm over my eyes.

I then heard the front door open and close. I sniffed the air and sighed.

"Melo?" I heard Gray call out.

"Over here." I said loudly.

I heard footsteps and felt a presence in the living room.

"You okay Melo?" Gray asked.

I felt my legs be picked up and then set back down in something soft.

I moved my arm slightly and saw Gray sitting next to me with my legs in his lap.

I blushed and completely moved my arm away from my eyes.

"I guess you could say that." I mumbled.

"Bummed about not being on the Fairy Tail team for the Grand Magic Games?" Gray asked as he looked at (Y/N).

"Kinda.. I was looking forward to competing with you guys this year and actually having a chance of winning." I said as I looked at Gray.

"Having a chance? Come one Melo. We are going to win." Gray said with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"Oh and you don't have to be completely bummed out about not being on the team." Gray said.

I immediately sat up and looked at Gray, " What are you talking about Gray-kun?"

"After you left, Gramps said that you'll be a substitute for Fairy Tail if one of us gets badly injured and is unable to compete for a day or so." Gray said with a smile.

I immediately laid back down and groaned, "I doubt that anyone will get hurt. You guys are all really strong. It would be a miracle for me to actually compete."

"Well that doesn't mean that you're not coming with us. Everyone in the whole guild is going to cheer us on. They even made an exception for you to sleep in the same room as the Fairy Tail team since you're a substitute." Gray said.

"Now get up and go pack for tomorrow. Erza said that we leave early in the morning and we won't arrive until night since it takes the whole day to get to Crocus." He said as he slapped my leg and got up.

I nodded and got up to pack.
