Chapter 24

(3rd PoV)
"We're going to win some points tomorrow! I can feel it!" Natsu exclaimed as he stood up from his seat at the bar.

Everyone cheered and continued to drink away.

Except Team Fairy Tail.

(Y/N) forbid them from drinking so they would be ready for the games the next day.

"Natsu. Put the beer down." (Y/N) yelled sternly from the bar stool she was sitting on.

"But I was just going to taste it!"

"I don't care! Put it down before I go over there and make you!" (Y/N) yelled threateningly.

Natsu nodded rapidly and put the beer down.

(Y/N) rolled her eyes and took a sip from her cup of water.

"Nice job Melo." Gray said from beside (Y/N). He ruffled her hair, making (Y/N) slightly glare at him.

"That rule goes for you too, Gray-kun." (Y/N) said as she looked at Gray.

"How many times have I told you to drop the formality? Just call me Gray."

"No."

"Why?"

"I don't want too."

"So you're never going to just call me Gray?"

(Y/N) nodded,

"Anyways, the rule applies to you too Gray-kun."

"Come on Melo. You know I don't drink." Gray said as he took a sip of his water.

"You only drink whenever you're bothered by something, you're really angry, or really sad. I've noticed it when I was younger Gray-kun." (Y/N) said.

Gray mumbled something under his breath as he sighed.

"Please don't do that anymore.." (Y/N) whispered.

"What?" Gray asked.

"Please don't drink away your feelings.." (Y/N) said as she reached over and grabbed one of Gray's hands.

Gray's eyes widened at (Y/N)'s touch.

'Her hands are really warm, but also cold.. And I'm an ice mage.' Gray thought.

"I never liked it when you came home drunk.. You didn't do anything bad, but I always hated the way you looked.. It made me sad.." (Y/N) said quietly, but loud enough for Gray to hear.

"Melo.. I'm sorry.." Gray said as he entwined his fingers with (Y/N)'s and squeezed her hand.

"I never meant to do that.. I promise not to do that anymore. I don't want to make you sad anymore." He said with sympathy.

".. Thank you Gray-kun." (Y/N) whispered.

Just then, Juvia appeared next to (Y/N) and Gray.

"Love rival.."

(Y/N) looked at Juvia and greeted her, "Hey Juvia."

"Hello Love-Rival." Juvia greeted back.

Noticing their entwined hands, Juvia immediately grabbed Gray's open hand and dragged him away.

"Gray-kun!" (Y/N) called out as Gray let go of her hand.

Gray looked at her with a look of sympathy as he was dragged away by Juvia, attempting to get free.

'There goes my time with Gray.. I don't understand why Juvia still calls me her love-rival. Gray-kun doesn't even have romantic feelings towards me..'
