Chapter 17

(3rd PoV)
"Gray-kun.." (Y/N) whispered. It was rare for Gray to cry.

"I.. I thought I lost you.." Gray said as he kept crying.

"What do you mean?" (Y/N) asked.

"Wendy said that you used up almost all of your power.. She said that you might not make it.." Gray said as he used one of his arms to wipe his face.

"You were out for a week and 3 days.. I thought I lost you." He said as he tightened his grip on my hand.

(Y/N)'s eyes softened as she used her left hand to lift up Gray's face.

"You will never lose me Gray-kun. It's not that easy to get rid of me." She said softly.

Gray smiled sadly as he engulfed (Y/N) in a hug. (Y/N) wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back.

"Dummy. You scared me so much.." Gray whispered in (Y/N)'s ear.

(Y/N)'s face heated up as she tightened her grip.

"..Why did you do that? Why did you strain yourself to heal my wounds?" Gray asked as he broke the hug and sat down on the bed.

"I.. I.." (Y/N) began as she looked down at her hands.

"You what?"

"I wanted to repay you!"

(Gray's PoV)
'What?'

"What do you mean Melo?" I asked.

"I wanted to repay you.. From last time.." (Y/N) said as she looked up at me.

"What are you talking about?" I asked again.

"When I blocked that lightning beam from hitting you.. Before you guys left.." (Y/N) said as she looked away from me.

My eyes widened as I remembered.

Before we left for Tenrou, Melo, Team Natsu, and I went on a job.

I was about to get hit by some lightning magic, but Melo jumped in front of me and took the hit.

'After we went back to the guild, I took care of her wounds myself. I wouldn't let Wendy or anyone else do it.

I wanted to treat her wounds myself since the attack was meant for me.'

I sighed and shook my head, "Melo-"

Just then, the door flew open.

"(Y/N)!" Natsu exclaimed. Behind him stood Erza, Lucy, Wendy, Carla, and Happy.

"You're awake!" Wendy said with tears in her eyes.

"Thank Mavis.." Lucy said as she grinned, also with tears in her eyes.

"It's not that easy to get rid of me." (Y/N) said as she rolled her eyes.

After they all hugged Melo, they sat down near the bed.

"You really scared us (Y/N)." Erza said.

"So I've heard." Melo said as she glanced at me.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

'Melo. You're gonna be the death of me one day..'

(3rd PoV)
"We're being serious (Y/N)." Erza said sternly.

"You can't just strain yourself (Nickname)." Natsu said to (Y/N).

"Really Natsu? I thought that you would be the one who understands the most." (Y/N) said as she clenched her teeth.

"What is that supposed to mean?!" Natsu yelled.

"Whenever you do something for your nakama, it's perfectly fine. But when I do something, it's careless and reckless." (Y/N) said as she tightened her fist.

"But (Y/N), that's different." Lucy said softly.

"How the hell is that different?!" (Y/N) yelled as she looked at everyone.

They were all taken aback at (Y/N)'s outburst.

"I just wanted to repay Gray-kun.." She whispered.

"Melo-"

"Please get out so I can change." (Y/N) said.

Team Natsu glanced at each other and left.

(Your PoV)
After I changed into a (Favorite Color) shirt and some jeans. I put on my shoes and fixed my hair.

I grabbed my bag, took a deep breath and went out of the infirmary. Once I closed the door, everyone became quiet.

"..."

"(Y/N)!" They all exclaimed.

I waved and walked past Team Natsu.

"Where are you going?" Lucy asked. "Home. I know I just woke up after being out for a week and three days, but I need to go home and check on my animal friends. Sorry." I said dully as I walked out of the guild.
