“Gah…” I muttered, exiting the bathroom and wiping my mouth off. “That’s only happened like three other times before…”
“Were you really that nervous?” Reiley asked from her position against the wall. “You don’t have to be.”
“Yeah? Well you haven’t lived your life with the good side just to switch back for personal reasons.”
Reiley glared at me with her silver eyes, “You know I’ve been wanting to switch…”
“Yeah,” I nodded, walking past her. She followed. “But then your future wouldn’t be as bright… It still isn’t…”
We walked to the main room as the patrol group came back with no dead Turtles or dead Splinter, which meant they didn’t go a little before that lair… Good…
“Where are they?” Shredder asked, standing up to meet the group.
“They weren’t there, Master,” Dogpound answered, bowing down.
Shredder turned to me and I gulped silently again. “Come here, Naomi.”
I walked up to him and stood by the group before bowing down like the others. Shredder came up to me and asked, “Where is Splinter?”
“I said that they moved often.” I answered. “That’s usually their popular hideout.”
“They weren’t there…” Shredder growled. “Stand up.”
Standing up, I looked at him, but I quickly regretted it because his blades on his wrist slid out and he had me up against a wall with two of them on either side of my neck and the third and middle one inches from my face.
“Shredder!” Reiley said from behind him. “Don’t do it! We need her.”
“Why?” Shredder asked, turning to her. “She already failed me.” the blade came closer and I put my hands up to the two other blades to try and pull them away, but they were stuck in the wall and my hands started bleeding.
“She can read minds,” Reiley answered.
I sighed inwardly and put my foot up against the wall as Shredder turned to me asking, “Is this true?”
“Yes.” I said, crossing my arms and getting in my usual Naomi pose up against a wall, even though there was a blade threatening to murder me. “I read pretty much every mind but yours. Also, I can predict the future… somewhat…” I half-lied that last part.
The middle blade retracted to his wrist and he said, “Alright. Karai will tell something to Reiley in the other room. When they come back, you have to tell me what they said. If they say yes, you’ll live. If not… That is going to be your last sentence.”
Reiley and Karai nodded and left the room. I was still between the two blades. It was making me uncomfortable, but I kept a straight face. Shredder kept staring at me, which was weird because of the clouded eye.
“You don’t seem afraid,” Shredder observed.
“You have no idea,” I scoffed.
“You’re powerful, emotionless, and very mysterious. If you lie, then there goes an excellent warrior for my army.” The girls came back and Shredder looked at me. “What did Karai tell Reiley?”
I looked at Reiley and searched her mind. “She told me that she doesn’t trust you as much as you say we should.”
Looking at Shredder I answered, “Karai told Reiley that she doesn’t trust me as much as I say you should.”
Shredder looked at the two girls and Karai nodded, “Exactly that.”
“Well,” Shredder said in a creepy voice, retracting his two blades from on either side of my neck and from the wall. “You really are special.”
Inside, that cheered me up because everyone else called me creepy and weird. Outside, I just nodded and smirked my usual smirk.
“You’re not completely trusted, but we’ll allow you to go on the next patrol. For now, though, get sleep. We need you.” Shredder ordered.
“Hai, Master Shredder,” I bowed. He turned and walked away and I followed Reiley to her room. Somehow, all nervousness had left my body after Shredder called me special. It seemed… Good.
I smirked as I laid down.
