“Finally…” Shredder growled a bit too happily as the rest of the Mutagen was emptied into the device. “Now your turn, Naomi.”
I looked at my pale golden treasure, then the deice that held all of the mutagen, wondering if I should actually do this. Actually change the future this way. I could just turn back now, but then I would probably get murdered and nobody would tell the truth… Just like Karai’s situation currently.
Although I made myself a promise, in person, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to. I can see two futures, and both I wanted, but one was easier and quicker… The other one I could’ve just stayed with the others and explain…
No. This was what I wanted. Stepping up to the device, I set my one precious treasure in. The Mutagen swallowed it up. Now I couldn’t change the future beside the one that I wanted to do in the first place.
Backing up, Shredder chuckled evilly, making me want to smile just a little. But I kept my cool and watched as the object slowly sank until it reached the middle. Now that everything was done… Time was all that was needed…
The chapel doors opened and Karai stumbled in, holding her arm close to her body. No April. I was somewhat relieved. I was relieved because I didn’t know if Karai was going to capture her or not. The reason for that was because my future prediction skills felt like they were being tested, strained, to their limits, more and more each day I stayed here…
Shredder turned around, “Where’s April?”
“She got away, father…” Karai answered truthfully. She walked past me. I moved out the way and looked at her funny. The reason why was because I was so not used to her wearing blue jeans or a leather jacket. Only her FootClan ninja uniform…
“Got away?!” Shredder snapped.
I scoffed, “She beat you up? Ha! That’s a laugh…”
Karai turned on me, “Now how is that a laugh?”
“Because she barely started her training. Last I saw, she was just being starting her training. Unless Splinter has her practicing twenty-four-seven, then I’m not sure how she could even hit you, let alone beat you.”
With angry steps, Karai came up to me, her face inches from mine, “She was just lucky, alright?”
She said that, but her mind said differently. I looked at her a bit annoyed. Looking at Shredder sideways for a millisecond, he was staring at us. So I just whispered to Karai, “Yet your mind screams differently…”
Her amber eyes widened a bit before she scowled and stomped away, still holding her arm. I watched her go, even watched the door slam before finally turning to Shredder. He was waiting for my response on whether or not she was telling the truth or not. I didn’t need to read his mind for that.
“She did try, Master,” I nodded. “But April unbalanced her…”
“How?” Shredder growled.
“Her mother…” I answered, walking off and toward my room.
