“Alright, guys,” Donnie said, coming into the main room after our training session. Most of us were watching Space Heroes while the others were reading comics, or playing the arcadia games in the back. “I got some news.”
“If it’s about April,” Raph started. “No. I don’t want to hear it…”
“No,” Donnie said. “It’s about the Kraang.”
“Well this should be important…” Leo nodded, grabbing the remote and turning the TV off. Sophie and I pouted for a few seconds before turning around to face Donnie as well.
“Well, I found some translations…” Donnie said, getting out his T-Phone. “The Kraang are setting up an invasion and they’re bringing a battle ship over from their dimension. And they’re sending it out tonight.”
“Well, that’s one thing you guys can do tonight.” Sophie sighed, leaning back against my shell. I forgot her arm was sprang, so she couldn’t exactly come.
“Hey,” Natasha said, coming up to her. “If it makes you feel better, I’ll stay with you.”
Sophie looked up and smiled as best she could with meaning. She leaned up and I got up to stand by the guys. Natasha came up to Sophie and took my previous place. They looked up at us and Natasha waved.
Mikey and I waved back and then Leo turned around and we left. With our weapons on our shells, we left on foot and climbed up to the surface. Donnie and Leo led the way. Our numbers seemed smaller without the other two…
When we reached a building where we could scout out TCRI without being disturbed. Mikey got out his T-Phone after a few minutes and I sat by him, watching the game. It was a Space Heroes game and you had to shoot down space ships.
“This game is so cool!” Mikey said, moving the T-Phone in direction he wanted to go to lean the ship over.
“Guys, hush!” Leo snapped. “You feel you’re being watched?”
“When it involves at night in the dark in front of Kraang headquarters,” Raph growled. “Yeah. I do.”
“But human wise, Raph!” Leo said.
That’s when a blur from my side vision lunged at Leo who unsheathed a sword and clattered with another one, the ring rang out like a bell tong. We all stepped back as Leo pushed the shadow back.
Karai twirled her Wakizashi with skill then smirked, “Hey guys. Miss me?”
“No.” we all said but Leo who scowled a bit with his Katana sword.
“Well that’s a shame,” Karai smirked, jumping back at Leo. We watched them fight it out. They seemed equally matched, but I’ve known Leo to fight better, so he’s seeing what her limit is by the looks of it. Or maybe the other way around?
Finally, Leo pushed Karai back again and the rest of us got our weapons out and jumped at Karai. Mikey cried out, “Booyakasha!”
She avoided all of our attacks, even hitting some of us back and then turned to Mikey when we were grouped up, “Booyakasha? What’s that even supposed to mean?”
“I don’t know!” Mikey admitted, twirling his nun chuck. “It’s just fun to say.”
Again, Karai jumped at us, but we scattered, not wanting to deal with her. Even Leo said so, “We don’t have time for this, Karai!”
“And why not?” Karai asked, whirling around that mini Katana. I’m not sure on how her or Sophie deals with them. They’re so small!
“Because we’re trying to stop an alien invasion!” Raph interjected. “So if you don’t mind, leave!”
That’s when something bright came from the direction of TCRI and we all turned around to face the direction. When the light was gone, a large garage-like door opened near the top of the building and out came a large Kraang space ship.
It advanced toward us quickly and when he looked at us, I grabbed Mikey’s hand and he even said, “Uh, guys? I think I need to change my shell…”
Something bright on the front of the ship pointed at us and Raph asked Leo, “What now?”
“Well,” Leo said, jumping away as a laser tried to hit us. “We could run!”
All of us followed Leo across roofs and other obstacles. The Kraang kept shooting at us. Mikey and I even had to separate because they shot right between us. Finally, we jumped down into an alley way and hid behind a car. Karai had disappeared and I was glad of it. We looked around for the ship, but could see it nowhere.
“Is it gone?” I asked.
“It is if it hasn’t found us--” Leo started before the car got pushed away.
All of us paused for a second before looking up straight at the Kraang ship. We all screamed and ran again as they shot at us all again. We scattered, finally Leo made us run for it as he threw a smoke bomb at the ship, giving us a few seconds to lift the sewers and jump down in the hole.
The ship looked around for us for a bit before disappearing.
“Great,” Raph growled. “Because it wasn’t scary enough when we could see it…”
We waited for a few more seconds as the cop sirens came closer before Leo lead us all away and back to the safety of our lair.
