Snatching

I woke up the next morning with a dream stuck in my head… This usually happens, but they aren’t as serious as this one… I needed to talk with Sensei about this one. Getting up, I paused, remembering that Sensei was now Splinter.

Either way, I needed to talk to a more experienced mind. Getting up and going to the dojo, I knocked on Splinter’s door.

“You may enter,” his voice rang through the sliding door. So I did. He looked up at me from his meditation position. So much different from Naomi’s. “What do you need to talk about, Mikito?”

“A dream I had, Mas--Sensei.” I gritted my teeth for nearly changing it. He looked at me but nodded, allowing me to go ahead and explain the dream. I explained the dream I had. Naomi putting something in a device and then her and Karai talking.

In the dream, it felt like I was Naomi. With her mind reading and her predictions. I actually saw the future, which was weird… I saw others. Many others. Turtles, like us, and even the familiar faces I know now.

Splinter listened to me intensely, not interrupting. When I finished, he nodded and stroked his beard. “It sounds as if Naomi is changing her future…”

“That’s what it felt like, Sensei…” I admitted. “It actually felt like I was her.”

“Now that is a rare experience. To feel as if you were someone else,” Splinter nodded. “Either Naomi wants you to have these dreams, or you’re starting to learn to expand your own thoughts toward hers.”

“But out of all of us, why her?” I asked.

“You two are very close. And you miss her dearly. We all do. So it would natural for you to be wondering what she was up to.”

I thought about what he said. Someone knocked on Splinter’s door and he called them in as well. Raph came in, pausing as he saw me.

“Raphael,” Splinter nodded. “What would you like to talk about? Or after I talk with Mikito here?”

“Uh,” Raph shook his head. “Afterward, please, Sensei.”

Splinter nodded and Raph backed up again. I wanted to ask him what he knew about Naomi. He’s been telling Splinter what he knows, but I was too shy to ask Splinter about this whole ordeal.

“Anything else?” Splinter asked, like he knew what I was thinking.

“No, Sensei.” I lied casually. I bowed and left.

As I came into the main room, Olivia and Rosalie came from nowhere. Olivia snatched my elbow and dragged me along as Rosalie snatched Natasha as well. They dragged both of us out.

I was too stunned to even struggle. Beside me, Natasha was about the same, but she was looking at Olivia and Rosalie curiously. “Why?”

“Because!” Olivia chirped happily. “You guys need fresh air.”

“We go up nearly every night…” I said.

“And there’s a plentiful supply of air everywhere,” Natasha added. “We always have fresh air.”

“You get the point,” Rosalie rolled her eyes.

“No,” I shook my head. “Not really…”

Olivia laughed then let me walk myself as we reached the ladder heading up. Rosalie did the same with Natasha. Natasha just brushed herself off. I climbed up and opened the manhole, helping the others up before closing it back up.

Rosalie and Olivia walked down on the sidewalk while me and Natasha stayed up on the roofs. We even had our own conversation.

“I have a question…” Natasha said, jumping over an alley and calling from the other side.
