“Alright…” Donnie said the next night, staring at the laptop and trying to find some Kraang information from the flash drive Mikey found. “Now, as far as I can tell, they’re moving something tomorrow night on 65th street.”

“It may be the disrupter,” Natasha answered.

“Disrupter?” Donnie repeated. “They have one?”

“Yeah,” Natasha nodded. “They built it last month and experimented on a few things in the building.”

“So you think they’re transferring the disrupter to a new place?” Donnie asked.

“Seems like it.”

Sophie scoffed from beside me. We were listening in to their conversations from the main room even if they were in Donnie’s lab. “Another Naomi… Knowing everything.”

“No,” Mikey shook his head. “Naomi would be snapping at Donnie or elsewhere, completely not talking to him.”

“Would you guys stop about Naomi around me?” I asked. “Seriously…”

“Sorry, Mikito…” Mikey sighed. “But I bet I know what would cheer you up!”

“What?” I asked.

“Skating. We haven’t been in a while.”

“Mikey,” Sophie nodded. “I’m going to agree with you. One of the very few times I will.”

Natasha must’ve heard because she came up saying, “Skating? Like, roller skating?”

“Yeah,” Mikey nodded. “There’s a closed one nearby we sometimes use.”

“Donnie’ll make you a pair of skates,” Sophie reassured Natasha.

Sighing, Donnie got up. “Well, we need a little break and breather for what’s happened…”

“Yeah,” I muttered. “A break…”

Mikey came up and patted me on the shell. We got up and went to find our skates. Mikey’s with his sherbert color and mine a mix of pink and yellow. I hadn’t used these in a while…

Everyone was ready by the time I had found mine. Everyone was going except Raph. Maybe he was thinking? Or just bummed?

We walked past the dojo and he was there, talking with Splinter. They were talking together in low voices and suddenly, Splinter looked shocked. Raph looked a little guilty and then I didn’t see no more.

I don’t think anybody else saw because they were chattering away with one another as we headed up. We hurried to the skating rink and I saw two shadows running across a few roofs. One stopped and looked at us before following the first.

Donnie finally had Natasha’s skates figured out before the rest of us had ours on. Natasha’s was a deep grey, spotted with white. Her wheels were the straight one, so they were blades.

“Wow,” she said, looking at them. “Pretty good there, Donnie. Thanks.”

“No problem,” Donnie nodded.

Then we skated till our feet hurt. It was nice to do something without thinking about the problems in our life. But as soon as we stopped, my problems came back at me. Even before we entered the lair. Guilt and fright flooded over me. Why Naomi?
