Epilogue
[Mika's POV]
Ilang beses sinubok ang pagkakaibigan namin but we stuck together. Noon hanggang ngayon, he remained by my side. He still is my security blanket and I still run to him for advice. He's nothing but an angel to me.
As Jeron walks down the isle with a happy smile on his face, I knew I made the right decision. This man deserves to be happy.
"Mommy, is it my turn to walk now?" pukaw sa akin ni Miriel. Mabilis kong pinahid ang mga luha ko.
She's standing beside me, wearing that cute little flower girl hat and a pink gown. She's holding a basket full of flowers.
"Not yet, sweetie. We'll wait for the cue from the wedding coordinator," I softly said.
"Mommy, why are you crying?" nagtatakang tanong niya nang mapuna marahil ang pamumula ng mga mata ko.
"I'm just happy that your Tito Jeron is getting married," sabi ko sabay ngiti sa kaniya.
"Did Tito Jeron cry when you and daddy got married?"
"No, sweetheart. Your Tito Jeron didn't cry but he was happy for your mom and I," masuyong sabi ni Gabby sa anak. He kissed the little girl on her cheek and urged her to join the entourage. Miriel walked down the aisle with that adorable arrogance of her father and my charming smile. For a three year old, she sure knows how to walk with confidence and grace.
Proud mom right here!
Gano'n, Ate?!
I stared at Gabby when I heard him chuckle. He put his arms around me and whispered reassuringly, "Don't mind them, babe. Miriel got her looks from you. He looked at me lovingly and quickly gave me a light kiss. "I love you, babe. You will always be beautiful in my eyes, you know that."
"I love you, too, babe.
I couldn't be any happier for Jeron now that he's finally tying the knot with my cousin Richelle. Haha! Seriously, they were just at the right place at the right time. All I did was gave them a little shove.
I knew Richelle from way back. She's one of those people I really adore because of her fun-loving nature and great personality. We were called 'twins' by our relatives because we sorta look alike and we have the same crazy attitude. We were playmates in Bulacan before they migrated to the States when we were in grade six. Nawalan kami ng communication until two years ago when she suddenly contacted me on Twitter. Nandito na pala ulit sila sa Pilipinas. We exchanged phone numbers and chatted for a long time. We talked about our lives and I learned that she's still single. That's when an idea popped into my mind. Next time me and Richelle met, I literally dragged Jeron to come with me. At ayun, they hit it off really well. And here they are now, in front of the minister swearing to love each other in sickness and in health and 'til death do them part.
