Flint found that the wound in his chest had disappeared. Only one day had passed since he faced Cinder and Chronos, but one day was more than enough for Flint's thoughts to consume him. He was alone in his hospital room, a room containing literally nothing but white and red objects he couldn't name. The nurses checked on him periodically, but otherwise left him to a peaceful view of the city. His window allowed soft, orange light to cover his white sheets and bring color to the room. Flint was still in his bed, the sun just now rising.
Why Flint was being forced to stay in the hospital despite having slight wounds, he didn't know. He came out with only a few cuts and a long, jagged slash going down his chest where Chronos had stabbed him. It was a scar, but Flint would rather have scar than have no life.
Speaking of no life, what on Earth happened to him? One minute he was reveling in his death and the next he transformed into.... Into a........ What did he transform into? Flint tried his best to recall the event, only to no avail. It was like his memory had been deleted of the event, aside from the thought.
Suddenly, someone came in to his hospital room.
"Ozpin." Flint said as he saw the familiar reflection in his window.
"Good morning, Flint. I have a few questions for you." Ozpin said, his hands crossed behind his back.
"Fire away, gunner." Flint said, his sarcastic attitude showing. Despite being injured, transformed into a Grimm-like beast, forced into a hospital, failed his daughter, and-
Man, Flint should stop thinking to himself.
"First off, do you know why this happened?" Ozpin said, revealing his control panel and showing Foint a video of his transformation.
"No, I don't." Flint responded, his mind taking in every detail.
"I figured that. One more question and I'm done. It's more of a request, really: What happened exactly 6 months, 4 hours, and 6 days ago?" Ozpin said, his eyes staring directly at Flint.
"Actually, it's 3 hours and 6 days ago." Flint said, his mind still remembering the moment as to when his life nearly ended.
"Would you mind telling me the story?"
"It'll take a while."
"Then add more details. I'm not just doing this so I can get information, you know." Ozpin smiled, remembering that Flint was his favorite student and disciple.
-Flashback-
"Flint, I'm not letting you go alone!" Cinder shouted at Flint, waking the baby. Flint had accepted what would be his last mission as an assassin, but Cinder wasn't having any of it. She knew that this would be the most dangerous mission yet, and worse he might not even return. Their baby, Emilia Lockryder began crying due to Cinder's shouts. Cinder picked the child up then began rocking the baby.
"You don't have a say in this, Cinder." Flint said, his mind already set on the mission. Cinder looked at him, her eyes a blazing orange. Flint watched her, knowing that she had activated her semblance. Emilia finally stopped crying, and Cinder had put her back in the cradle.
"This ring on my finger says I do." Cinder argued, her eyes blazing even more. Her anger was rising, showing itself in her glowing eyes.
"Well I say you don't." Flint countered, leaving the room and closing the door behind him.
Flint grabbed his multi-weapon staff and headed for the door. He opened the small apartment room door and exited, knowing all too well that his family needed the money more than they needed him.
-Timeskip-
Flint arrived at the location, an abandoned bunker covered in weeds and vines. Flint found an opening, then punched the door down. His gauntlets, a bright yellow/red coloration making the effort easily. Flint knew that if anything attacked him, he'd be ready. His staff could transform into a sword, a rifle, even a spear or magical staff. He'd be ready for any situation.
Flint remembered that the place was crawling with Grimm, so how come no Grimm attacked him? General Ironwood had given him his final job, to kill the Queen Of Grimm. The General had told him that the Queen's name was Cassinova. Killing Cassinova would kill the Grimm as a whole, but something about the whole situation seemed odd. Ironwood had also said that he knew this due to a patrol being killed yet sending a video record back to their base.
Flint was about to leave the building when dozens on top of dozens of beowolves appeared, jumping through the windows and breaking down the other doors. Flint pressed a button on his staff, the staff transforming itself into a long sword.
---
Flint stood, blood splattered on his arms as the body of the beowolves disappeared.
"So, you are strong. Just as he said." a voice said to Flint. He could tell the voice was being projected directly into his mind, being that there were no speakers nor could he sense any electricity. His semblance allowed him to bend electricity to his will. His own weapons produced electricity, allowing him to increase his power according to his will. Of course, he had limits. If his strength exceeded his control, his body would pay for it.
"Just as who said?" Flint asked himself, seeing if his hypothesis of telepathy was correct.
"You simple-minded fool. You actually think Ironwood told you the truth?" Cassinova taunted him, then laughed.
"Come find me then, boy. We'll see just how strong you really are." Cassinova cut the telekinesis, his mind finally becoming private once again. A passage before him opened, the ground rising to reveal a set of stairs.
"Make no mistake, I will kill you." Flint said to himself, his arms dropping to his sides as he walked into the underground entrance.
