Flint found that he couldn't rip his eyes away from Cinder. She looked so peaceful, as if the Cinder he knew before was still there. Flint shook his head slightly, forcing the thought out of his mind. Wasn't that what he was here for? To return Cinder to her normal self? So that they could live their old life?
"Poor Flint." A voice said in his head. He felt the familiar pull of his mind, the privacy of his once non-invaded mind being taken from him against his will.
"Cassinova." Flint responded to himself. He felt his jaw tighten, his eyes narrowing in search of the broad who dared to speak through his mind once again.
"Flint, my darling. It's been far too long. Honestly, I thought you would survive the fall. I never imagined you would be nearly killed by the fall. Maybe you aren't as strong as I initially thought." Cassinova taunted. Flint heard a slight laugh in his mind, his eyes finally spotting her. She was behind Cinder, walking up to his fiancé.
"Why don't you come up here and we'll see about that." Flint challenged, still speaking to her telepathically. Flint saw her raise one of her claws and touch his daughter's cheek.
"What a beautiful baby. Not one you deserve, Flint." Cassinova looked up at him, a jeering look plastered across her face.
"Doesn't this feel familiar, Flint?" Cassinova started. Her tone was once again a jeering tone, her only aim to tick the male off.
"You against impossible odds, an army of Grimm. It's a shame, really. All the lives of good human soldiers being wasted protecting these walls when they could be putting themselves to work, building me a monument!" Cassinova finished. A large smile stared back at Flint as he struggled to hold his anger. His knuckles were clenched, blood dripping from a wound in his hand he had just inflicted on himself. He was no longer staring at Cassinova. The streak of blood going down his daughter's face from where Cassinova had touched earlier distracted his gaze and caused a flurry of emotion to break into his thoughts.
One emotion stood out the most, however. Anger. Then, black. His thoughts became blank, his mind going black. Flint threw his head back and roared, transforming once again.
"If even one drop of her blood spills, I will kill you." Flint had subconsciously remembered the quote, suddenly brining the quote to the forefronts of his mind.

Neo was helping Mercury out of his bed, the bandages and arm holder still keeping the male from going to the aid of Cinder. He limped, forcing most if his weight onto Neo for support. Neo suddenly felt a wave of energy spread through the room, completely enveloping them, then leaving just as quickly as it passed. Neo's eyes widened once again, the bright and dark irises becoming more prominent. She felt Mercury take his weir off her, then he somehow landed himself back on the bed.
"Go." Mercury said, waving her off. And go she did, after giving him a look that said many things. Things that Mercury could understand.
"I'll save my sibling."
Mercury smiled to himself once she had gone. The pain Jed's pulled him under, into the form known as sleep. His droopy eyes reopened to find that he was faced with a memory he had been running from.
