A/N I'm sorry for this super late update! But hey, thanks for making this story so popular! I'm hoping to hit 1K reads at the end of this month!

Flint broke the surface of the water, the flaming wreck a few miles down shore. Before the arrows exploded, he had jumped into the water. (Hence the purple color and the last quote in the previous chapter) Flint coughed several times, salt water leaving his body with each assault of his coughs.

"I'm guessing it didn't go well?" asked a familiar male voice. His arm was extended, lending his hand to help the injured Flint.

"Ozpin." Flint coughed. Ozpin retracted his hand and helped Flint out of the water, then made his way to the hospital.

"You there! Call for an ambulance!" Ozpin shouted as soon as he spotted a bystander. The bystander noticed Flint, the blood also dripping down Ozpin's shirt. The bystander immediately pulled his phone and called for an ambulance.

Flint was beginning to lose consciousness, his eyes closing every few seconds.

Then his vision was black.

----

Flint's eyes shot open, first registering the familiar white ceiling. His hands shot up to his forehead, the roaring headache slamming in as his brain slowly awoke.

"Did you have a good sleep?" Ozpin asked, his smile very noticeable. Flint's arm had been entirely healed, the ripped flesh somehow disappearing, healing entirely.

"How many days have I been out?" Flint asked, the headache still very prominent. His vision swirled, the image of Ozpin beside his hospital bed mixed, as if someone had twisted the picture violently.

"A mere two days." Ozpin responded, nodding his head slightly as he spoke the four words. "There's also something you should know....."

Flint looked at his old teacher questioningly. What was it that the silver-haired male knew? Was it that important? And what the heck was it? Flint heard someone enter his room and close the door behind him, but Flint's eyes were locked on Ozpin.

"You have a new partner." Ozpin said as Flint felt a familiar presence standing next to his bed.

"Chronos."

----

"I hear you have a daughter?" Chronos asked Flint, the two leaving the hospital after Flint had been discharged.

"Yeah, she's eight months now." Flint replied, thinking of his daughter and that he had failed her yet again. He allowed Cinder to escape, not once but twice.

"I have three daughters and a single son. The daughters are all between the ages four and twelve, while one of my sons is 16 and the other was just born last month." Flint looked at Chronos surprisedly. To Flint, Chronos didn't seem like the family type. He seemed more of the loner, admirer even.

"I'm surprised. I didn't think you were a family type." Flint laughed to himself, but only slightly. He did to know why it seemed funny to him. Chronos walked alongside Flint, watching him slightly laugh to himself. Chronos felt that emotion once again, the emotion that had hit him when Cinder had first told him about Flint.

Chronos envied Flint. He still had the childish behavior that a teenager had, he had the drive nessacary to succeed in life, he even had a family at the age of 19.

"I'm sorry." Chronos blurted out, a little bit too loudly. Flint jumped slightly, the abrupt sentence surprising him.

"For what?" Flint asked, although he already knew the answer.

"For assaulting you." Chronos was surprised at how fast his response was.

"I forgive you."
