A/N: This poem is a special dedication to all the girls out there who ever doubted their beauty. You are always beautiful no matter what people say.

A last look in the mirror, as she stares at herself

She bottles up her feelings, and puts them on the shelf

She wears a smile, so beautiful and bright

Takes her car keys and leaves, under the starless night

She drives so far, till she reaches that river

Then sits on the cold grass, as she starts to shiver

She looks at her reflection, a single tear in her eye

Wondering, and asking why she's living a lie

It's no secret that she cries every night

Then leaves home smiling, like everything's alright

It's no secret that she hates how she looks

Because of all the models on magazines and books

It's also no secret that she feels all alone

Regardless of how many hours spent on her phone

Her secret was that she had a pure heart

She couldn't tell friend or enemy apart

She had eyes that only saw perfection

And a heart that always craved affection

No one saw the beauty that was buried deep inside

They busied themselves with the looks she tried to hide

Instead of seeing beauty they only saw the pride

Every night she cried herself to sleep

Trying to block the thoughts that creep

Cuz no one has told her that beauty is of the soul

And all society's standards are an endless hole

Because they saw her face before they saw her heart

So they never had the chance to understand her; a piece of art
