Inspired by the above song by Jason Walker.
What if I told you who I really am
Would you think that you've been scammed?
Would you think that you were tricked?
Was it random or were you hand picked?
What if I told you I'm broken inside.
A wilted rose, that dried then died
What if I told you, my smile is fake
That it grows wider with every heartbreak
What if I told me my fragile heart is cracked
Designed my crooked lines; humiliated, attacked.
What if my I told you I'm not worth your love
My black soul is not worthy of your pure dove
What would you think of me?
Would you stay or break free?
Would you still love me the same?
Or was this all just a game?
Where would you be when I need you?
Near? Or far like I always knew
Where would you go when you hear my tears
A broken mess of regrets and fears.
Allow me to answer them for you
Because I know your love is true
You will hold me when the night is young
Til every tune is finely sung
You will hold my hand and never let go
Telling me you love me, cuz believe me I know
You will dry my running river of tears
Tucking my hair behind my ears
You will hold me tight and never let go
I feel your heart beat, I already know
I've loved you for ages, and I'll love you forever
But when I wake up, we aren't together
Instead your side is empty of warmth
The year you left, entering its fourth
The year you died, holding my hand
In a hospital bed, a room so bland
The last thing you said with no regret
"I'll always love you. Never forget."
