Songs have a great impact on the way we write and even what inspires us to write. So a random question:
What are songs that mean a lot to you??
For me, it's "Straight Through My Heart" by Backstreet Boys, because it was the very first song I got to perform in front of an audience; without sounding like a dying alpaca.

Hold on, don't walk away
Please. I need you here to stay
Hold on, don't turn around
Not when our love was recently re-foundStop, don't say the word
I said I love you. I know you heard
Please, just not right now
We could work it out somehowNo, don't leave me here
Don't walk away and disappear
Please. What have I done
You aimed at me and shot your gunBut I'm talking to a ghost
An afterthought, at most
A memory of life
A stab of a knifeHe left me in the dark
And took my heart's spark
He left me all alone
My illness unknownIs it depression or a broken heart
Is it shattered or just torn apart
Am I barely living or just dying
Are these rivers or just me cryingHe's happy, while I'm sad
He's loving, i lost what I had
He left, while I stayed
He moved on, while I replayedI replayed our moments again
I stood out under the rain
I washed all my sins away
All my regrets to this dayI'll move on, find someone new
Find the one, who'll stay true
Because I deserve so much better
I'll release myself of this fetter
