A/N: Nearly 1k!

Paralyzed would be a perfect description for Avi's state of mind right now. He couldn't blink in order to forget what he had just seen, he couldn't move to escape from the situation he had put himself in. This was so cliché, a movie scene, but this time it was different. No he would not jump into Tim's arms and tell him that he fell in love with his savior and the only person he started to trust. He couldn't jump into a new relationship now, his injuries were still fresh and kept bleeding through the bandages.

"I-I can't.."

He whispered, tears welling up in his tired eyes. He wasn't tired due to the lack of sleep. He was tired of life, tired of dealing with emotions and thoughts so corrupting they could send you straight into an asylum. Tim scanned his shaking body, noticed how he hugged himself for protection and instantly felt bad.

"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I just wanted you to know..".

He stepped forward and lifted Avi's chin so he could look into those terrified and dull eyes.

"..that I will always be here to support you. No matter what."

Shivers covered Avi's body as he heard his deep voice nearly breaking the walls he had built around his heart. Clarissa was the fuming dragon, claiming the castle and Tim was both brave and stupid enough trying to save the doomed man, trapped inside his room.

"I'm sorry for your loss but right now we only have each other. I need you to trust me."

Avi wanted to shake his head. He wanted to be the master of his own will again but something was holding him back. He finally had someone he could talk to, someone he had already told the entire story about his pathetic life and he didn't get judged for it. Esther, his only sister and confident, had put him in this situation. He didn't want to blame her but still he could've stayed at home rather than being humiliated and hurt by his former friends but then.. would he have been still alive? Clarissa's punishments varied day by day, she could change her mind at all times. One time he had cut too deep, he had decided to end it there but Clarissa decided otherwise and made him go through the pain of healing. Healing his body but not his mind.

"I..T-tim?"

He looked into his eyes, his head started spinning as he got lost in them. Avi had lost faith in humanity a long time ago but this one man may have showed him that there was still hope. Hope that one day he could have a normal life again.

"Yes?"

Avi wasn't sure what his body was demanding. His heart and mind didn't cooperate which could lead him right into a trap out of which he could not escape this time.

"Hold me."

Tim let go of his chin and gently placed his hands around Avi's waist, his touch light as a feather, afraid to break the smaller man. Avi lifted his shaking hands and placed them on his chest, resting his head right above Tim's heart. They stayed in that embraced and let the feeling of being there for one another consume their mind and brush away Avi's doubts about this man. He didn't and couldn't fall in love with him, not yet.. but still. He lifted his head and studied the features of his savior. Genuineness, empathy and strength shone in his eyes. Avi's hand moved up to linger on his jaw line, barely touching it. His heart rate picked up while his gaze wandered from those stunning eyes down to those plump lips. Whatever he was thinking he would be punished later on but in all honesty he didn't care. Pain had no effect on him anymore, sure it still hurt but he was used to it.

"What are you thinking? "

He didn't know. What was going through his mind? Leaving behind his past and move on or be faithful towards Clarissa? Would he be a cheater then? What about his daughter? The girl he had seen in the photograph, a resemblance of himself. What if the next thing he was about to do would ruin the possibility to get better?
Avi closed his eyes tightly and whispered a sorry before he inched forward and closed the space between them. A tear rolled down his face as he let his emotions twirl through his mind like a tornado. He would regret this, he knew it. Tim was taken aback at first but relaxed soon after he felt the desperation in the kiss. Avi pulled back before Tim could deepen the kiss and cried out of guilt. His body had betrayed him. The slightly taller man wiped away his tears and shushed him silently.

"Hey, it's okay. Come here."

He let Avi cry into his shoulder as he rocked from side to side to calm him down, caressing his back repeatedly.

"Everything will be alright."
