Tim waited for Avi to come and join him at the door so they could leave the house together and take a walk in the park. Avi put on his sunglasses and snap back just to cover up more of his true self.

"You look good."

He didn't expect Tim to give him any compliments, he rarely received any and it embarassed him a little every time Tim said something like that.

"Thanks.."

"Avi?"

The smaller brunette kept looking at the mirror, at his own reflection, comparing his former and current outer form. Tim stepped behind him and carefully put his hands on Avi's hips, his chin resting on the smaller man's right shoulder. Although Avi was wearing his glasses Tim knew that he was looking at him because a small blush appeared right on his cheeks.

"Would you believe me if I said that you are the most beautiful human being I've ever seen?"

Avi stopped tucking at his shirt in and took a deep breath, already prepared to answer.

"No.."

"And why not?"

Because there was nothing beautiful about him. Avi didn't doubt his love towards Tim and vice versa. He didn't doubt that Tim thought he was beautiful. He just couldn't believe it. Beautiful, according to the dictionary meant possessing qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc. When he thought of himself the first thing which came to his mind was the fact that he was a murderer and didn't deserve good things like a boyfriend or a roof over his head. When he heard someone calling his name it immediately reminded him of not being good enough and being the cause of something bad that had happened. When he saw himself in the mirror the scars on his arms appeared to glow and shine stronger when he stared at them. How could Tim say that he was beautiful?

"And why is that?"

"Because I'm awful. I can't do one thing right. And even though I'm really trying I just..can't forget my past."

Tim planted a small kiss on his shoulder and wrapped his arms around the thin body which belonged to his boyfriend.

"You don't have to forget it. Accepting and closing the case often clears everything up. I never expected you to change from one day to another. I don't rush you to do anything without your permission. I don't move when I see that you're frightened because of me. And why? Because there's beauty inside of you which shouldn't be touched by anyone until you give your consent. Avi, I will tell you this once okay? You're beautiful for me and I know it's hard to accept it but.. you've change me and soon you will change somebody else's life as well."

Avi took off his glasses and showed his watery eyes. For years he has been followed by taunting thoughts and painful memories. No one tried to make them go away. Too much effort. Too much work. But is it that hard to just say those few words? To go up to someone and tell them: Hey you're not worthless, I'm here and I will help you? He wiped them away and turned around to face the man who picked him up from the streets and changed his persona.

"Why me? Why not a girl with less problems? Why not a woman who can give you more than just depressing days?"

Tim cupped his face and rested his forhead against Avi's, both of their eyes closed and they listened to each other breathing. Eventually Avi's hitched one began to calm a little and his tears disappeared. Tim began to whisper as he pulled his boyfriend closer by the waist.

"I don't want someone easy. I don't want a challenge either. The only one I want is you. Avi, I fell for you the second I saw you on the streets. You could've been homeless and I wouldn't care. Something was different about you and it showed in your eyes before they closed. I made a deal with myself. To help you until you would leave and go out to fight against the odds in this world. I never intended you to love me back, I never planned that something like that would happen. But now I can call myself a very lucky man, because I have you."

Avi opened his eyes and leaned back a little, examining the face of his savior. Caring brown eyes, some he had never seen before. Tim, why are you so good to me?

"Don't you ever leave me."

"Didn't plan to."

Tim leaned down and placed a soft kiss on Avi's lips, smiling when the smaller man pulled him even closer, not wanting to let go.
